We have been sent a new update today from the team behind the <a href="http://usi.jarhedz.com/" target="_blank">US Intervention</a> mod. They have plenty of new in game media to showcase gearing up for their first release. Here's what they had to say:<blockquote>It's once again time for our weekly update, and yet again, luck doesn't seem to be on our side. The team has been working very hard towards achieving the release date goal, yet because of the recent losses of team members, patches, impending patches, and confusion with the loss of our web host, we are not going to be able to make the date. Hopefully we will have only a short delay, but some delay will be necessary due to recent events.<p>But there is no need to worry as the team is still moving forward! On this weeks menu we have quite much to show you: RPG-7, SA-7, Hind and A-10 cockpits and 4 maps; Ad Dawrah Oil, Burning Oilfields, Qasr Docks, and Basrah Streets (in that order for pictures). Enjoy!</blockquote><center><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_weapon_RPG-7.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_weapon_RPG-7.jpg"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_weapon_SA-7.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_weapon_SA-7.jpg"></a><br><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_cockpit_hind.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_cockpit_hind.JPG"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_cockpit_a10_2.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_cockpit_a10_2.JPG"></a><br><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_ad_1.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_ad_1.JPG"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_ad_2.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_ad_2.JPG"></a><br><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_bo_1.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_bo_1.JPG"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_bo_2.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_bo_2.JPG"></a><br><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_docks_1.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_docks_1.JPG"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_docks_2.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_docks_2.JPG"></a><br><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_streets_1.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_streets_1.JPG"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/USI_map_streets_2.JPG"><img src="/news/images/thumb_USI_map_streets_2.JPG"></a></center><br>Very impressive work done by the USI team, loving the A-10 cockpit and Basrah Streets. Re: US Intervention Mod Update
I can't say for offical but the big deal is the new patch. We wanted at least 2 weeks to test the patch but it still isn't out and it's kind of a bummer.
By the way, the A-10 cockpit is served no justice in any screen shot you will ever see. It is the single most eye catching thing in this mod, I've crashed 8 times just because I couldn't stop looking at that Hud. It's Amazing!
Also Basrah Streets, F-ing amazing. It looks amazing in that ariel shot, and it looks even better on foot, which is how you'll be viewing it soon...

Re: US Intervention Mod Update
Anyways, Basrah Streets is unbelievably amazing. Burning Iraqi tanks lay on the outskirts of the city, and a few inside as well. Lot's of alleys, roofs, and tight corners really make it a 3 Dimensional battlefield. There is a HMMWV or two (And the quivilant for the Iraqis) to provide mobile cover, but they won't get you anywhere that fast cause the tight turns make you an easy target for RPG's. It's an all around blood bath :) .Comment

Re: US Intervention Mod Update
That is Fricken Amazing! Love to see such a dedicated group of people who came together to create such a professional mod for nothing else, but passion.
One thing though, I wonder why EA/DICE never bothered to actually animate the guages in the cockpits or dashboards of any of the air, ground, or sea vehicles. It kills me to look down and see a pathetic 2D texture plastered onto there, and as I accelerate, see the speedmeeder stick at 5 MPH. It would be nice if this mod were the first to recitify this stupid oversite.Comment

Re: US Intervention Mod Update
Getting excited yet guys (if not check your pulse
)
Your gonna love these maps. Something for everyone in there.
As UB says, Streets is absolutelly awesome... I dare you not to stand on top of one of they high buildings in awe at the surroundings - until a sniper bullet takes your head of, of course. But looks aint everything eh?
Gameplay wise, you ground pounders are gonna love that map. Cracking feel to it, takes you right into the dusty desert streets of Iraq, for some up close and personal confrontation, and the sneaky flankers and snipers will have plenty of ways to getting there kill count up too.
Notable mention too, to the effects on Burning oilfields - looks nice, but doesnt do it justice to how it looks in game. Flaring oil wells, spewing acrid smoke into the air - gives a great bit of atmosphere to the map, and increases that immersive feeling of 'being there'.
Slight hiccup on the release date, dont think anybody really didnt expect that, with the balls of the 1.2 patch. Fingers crossed 1.21 fixes more things than it brakes - and get this out to ya all soon as.
As markHawk says, may be even time to stick a little extra in - so will most likelly be all good.
USI is puting the 'BAttle' into Battlefield again - cant wait to see ya all on there when its released.Comment
