If anyone wants to see how talanted this guy was - start DC_F and reload the m249 SAW. He did that along with the m203 reload animation (oh and pumping the shotgun, and a load of other animations no one notices at first).

And for those who don't know bf42 - animation was THE hardest thing to code into the game. There was no editor. The mod community has successes like DC (among others) to thank for the support the bf2 community recieves.

People like Tom showed the value in the community (and endless tinkering) to a large multi-national corporation. And he was only 13 at the time.

I leave you with a piece of his work that i just found. This was taken during testing. The soldiers hand is grabbing the new clip. This was never done until Tom done it

Horrible story, just this week a kid in my grade died in a car accident, he was 16. I didn't really know him but whenever I hear of just a kid dying, it truly horrible.....RIP

Wow troybob, that is really sad. All of those animations for DC that I never really did notice at first, were from this talented guy. Even sadder now

This is really upsetting news. My condolences go out to the family and friends of Thomas and everyone else affected by his life and tragic death.

I'm 27 and the older I get, the more obsessively I think about how little time I have to make a mark on the world. From what I read in the MercuryNews article, Thomas looked set to have a huge influence and was one of those genuinely talented, decent human beings that deserved an entire lifetime to use his gifts, intelligence and passion to enrich the lives of others.

I find it deeply upsetting that he wasn't given the chance to continue on the promising path he'd set out on, both as an artist and human being.

My heart goes out to his family. I've had friends die long before their time and it really is one of the worst things in the world.
