Community Update - 2/22/06

There is a follow up to this week's earlier update regarding patch 1.21 found today over at the Official Battlefield 2 website. Here's what they had to say this time around:
Good day soldiers, We want to let you know that we have been making great progress on patch 1.21 and are happy to share with you some of the issues that are being addressed. The patch will be tested in a limited beta starting the end of this week. We're working around the clock to minimize your wait on the release of 1.21 but at the same time want to make sure that the patch is thoroughly tested before it goes out officially.

Below is a list of the current confirmed fixes
• Crash bug when using Hummer with TOW in the Special Forces expansion pack has been fixed
• Screen capture is now working
• Performance issues with certain ATI cards has been addressed
• Server browser can now filter by map name
• Claymores - the number that can be dropped at any one time has been reduced to 2

Once again thank you for your patience and see you all on the Battlefield!

The team at DICE and EA
Glad to hear about the progress already being made on this hotfix. Stay tuned for more updates to come.

How about fixing the silent gunfire glitch. Or maybe the claymores/AT mines not being set off by teammates. And reduce the accuracy of the MGs because its pretty ridiculous right now. Did anyone even beta test this thing?

Claymores - the number that can be dropped at any one time has been reduced to 2
well maybe that will help a little but still doesn't fix the problem

fix it like this...

When a sniper puts them out of the way to defend himself like on top of a ladder then him getting a TK for it is unfair.
So the best solution would be to make claymores destroyable with granades and also make it so when a teammate walks over them it blows up but doesn't kill him.

This will make most people happy as claymores wont be as useful to spam in high people traffic areas as a lot will be disarmed by your own teammates running over them and with them being destroyable then its at least possible for the enemy to get past if they notice them, also snipers wont get any more TK's and punished due to idiot teammates trying to collect them up like powerups.
also make the granades from the noob tube bounce like the support gas gun on SF.

yeah sound bug needs to be fixed and support guns made not as accurate....i think somewhere between patches 1.12 and 1.2 for the PKM and others would be best.

I really do believe they are working around the clock on this, they have $$$ interest in getting it out. Obviously it affected Euro Force somehow, and they need to patch the game before getting Euro Force out so it will work. SO, this patch I am sure is $$$ driven. Only reason we will see it shortly

why with every release of a new patch, something else gets screwed up. i guess we are lucky that DICE doesnt build planes.

So that's why I could take any screenshots yesterday...damn it.
All that time wasted, building the stupid Vehicle-Bridge on Sir. server and no screenshots, nothing....

fix the AA, sound and Red/Blue Tag. Those are the ones that are really hampering the game.

By 'limited beta' do they mean you can sign up somehow or is this their exclusive team that found all the great bugs before? I wonder what would be wrong in doing a public beta patch; i'm sure there is a good reason though, but still.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I seem to find the probability of bombing teamates go up. What I mean is that when flying a jet using the bombs I get more circles that are in fact teamates and not enemies more then I have ever before. And consistently. Its like blue on blue casualties were increased purposely. And its not as if BF2 goes easy on you for taking out teamates. 1 Blue on Blue bomb drop can easily translate from a +20 or 30 score down to 0 or even the negatives if it happens that there are a bunch of extra guys near by.
