As Mark said, I am sure it is possible. But why do it? I have actually never noticed the cosmetic mis-hap you are talking about. There are things of far greater importance that the team is working on.

Looking at it realistically (although not, perhaps, with realism ) it makes little sense to spend time including a specific variant of a weapon which is VERY similar to an existing version, when there are other more diverse models to add.

The differences between the M16a1 and a2 are minor, and im sure most gamers would prefer to see new aircraft and armour added rather than cosmetic changes to an infantry weapon that will (for the most part) function just the same as BF2's

Who said anything about the M16A1? The M16A1 was a piece of crap used back in Vietnam, it jammed once per mag almost :p.

The M16A2 was used in the gulf, not A1

Whats gonna be new in the first release, like how many maps, gunZ, and other vehicles?
Ive seen ALL the vehicles and weapons and stuff but i dont know whats going in the 1st release...
