hmm, downloaded from [MOD] E. Grey's link and the installer looked a bit funny and unofficial, and my game wont start now. Dunno why, just a heads up to all of you out there. I am rolling my computer back to a restore point before the patch now, and waiting for an official release lol. Wish I could try out to new patch now, before gf wakes up.

hmmm, well.... I did a restore point before I installed patch and restored to that point, but my game comes up with a bunch of errors when I try to start now... So WARNING [MOD] E. Grey's d/l link seems a bit fishy. Installer says publisher cannot be verified. The installer came up and looked weird and unprofessional. And Lastly, my BF2 hasnt worked since I installed the patch from his website link. This could all be because this is not an official release, or because he "modified" the installer. Either way I am going to have to reinstall BF2 and wait for the real release to come.

well i been playing with the new patch for awhile all night almost
i like it, but u can still shot at your feet with GL and kill someone

**No dolphin diving = YAY
** no bunny hopping = YAY

but did u have to make the aa more powerful??? seems like it is the best weapon to use to kill anything

The noobtubing on that patch is still possible, if u shoot at ur legs they still blow up, im guessing it is a beta, at least i hope, and the jets are weak, very weak, and the AA, IGLA, and all those anti air weapons are superb against any Airpilot, helis are also weak. Its still possible to dolphine dive, just jump, prone, crouch, thats all u do and u can still pretty much bunny hop. I just wish this is a beta, and not the real deal.

yeah u can bunny hop, but u cant shot

dolphin diving, i wasnt able to do it
yeah they did make all aircraft very weak
u can knock it out of the sky by throwing a rock at it now

I like it a lot better, its going to take a long time to get used to not having to worry about bunnyhopping GL whores.

It worked for me, but I keep getting CTD's after about 10 minutes now. Also, there appears to be no real performance improvement whatsoever. All this happened when I was running 4 bit torrent downloads so my ping was through the roof, maybe it caused the CTD's.

Overall, if its just because I am running other programs, this looks to be the icing on the cake. Looks like everyone is using a bit more strategy now, of course I was playing with high ranked people because they're the only ones up at 4am EST playing BF2's unreleased patch.:laugh:

Actually, I thought the person being interviewed was phuckn arrogant to the max. What a total waste of time.

It is funny that all the really good developer studios like id Software, Valve, Epic Games, Crytek, et al, all have key people who have put their heart and soul into their creative work and who are spokesmen for the company. I don't know any developer with EA that has that person.

I don't know who was involved with Battlefield 1942 and if they are instrumental in also developing Battlefield 2. There is no one who speaks out and expresses the enthusiasm for the teams or responds to the community in a real way.

EA and DICE suck.

The Patch changelist was the only thing of value.

Stay away from the filefactory one, lots of people having problems (including me). downloading from another location right now. BTW battlefield2.ea.com seems to be down.

Edit: Patch from teamwbr.net also not working for me (but crashes in a different way). Guess I'll just have to wait until it's official. =/
Edit #2: Battlefield2.ea.com is back up but doesn't have any updates or official word.
Edit #3: The one from rapidshare is patching correctly... wait no, just said patching failed, clicked okay, then said sucessful. Dunno. I'll play with it when I get home (have a feeling now that I'm going to have to do a complete reinstall of bf2 later tonight). Enjoy all.!
