  • TotalBF2 Interviews Project Reality

I recently got a chance to interview Jason (aka [R-DEV] JS.Fortnight.A), mod leader of the Project Reality mod. I was able to ask him a number of questions regarding many aspects of the up and coming modification. I was also able to receive exclusive images as well as a brand new trailer for the PR mod. Take a look:<blockquote>TotalBF2: What is the aim for your mod? Any ultimate goal you hope to achieve?<p>[R-DEV] JS.Fortnight.A: The primary aim of our mod is to provide a realistic combat experience to players of BF2 while at the same time, adding in new factions, with all of the well known weapons, vehicles which that faction is known to possess. Along with modifying the original game in various areas such as weapon velocities, vehicle handling, infantry load-outs, and realistic tweaks to the player’s HUD at different stages of play.<p>As for an ultimate goal, we want to achieve the highest level of realism that gameplay allows, whilst always trying to push further with new & original coding developments.<p>TotalBF2: Given the release of Battlefield 2 Special Forces and the upcoming booster packs, how do you feel this will affect your mod?<p>[R-DEV] JS.Fortnight.A: Although they are structurally very similar, they hardly compare. We have been creating a modification that is of superior quality, is free to the community and will present far more original ideas (watch out for PRMM 0.3). In no way are we trying to downplay the ideas behind the booster packs, but their goals are short-term financial gains whilst ours are more along the lines of "sky's the limit".</blockquote><center><b><i><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/features/interviews/projectreality1.php" target="_blank">Read The Entire Interview Here</a></b></i><p><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/PR_SigP226.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_PR_SigP226.jpg"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/PR_MK12.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_PR_MK12.jpg"></a><p><a href="http://www.realitymod.com/Trailer/" target="_blank">Project Reality Trailer</a></center>I would once again like to thank [R-DEV] JS.Fortnight.A of the Project Reality mod for taking the time out to answer my questions as well as providing me with some exclusive images as well as the trailer. Stay tuned for more updates and eventually the release of this exciting mod.

    Wow great interview!
(Actualy registered just so I could say this so pay attention!)

I love the Project Reality mod, and have to say, all that its done to BF2 is beyond comprehension! I also really liked the movie, jeez you guys are professionals when it ocmes to releasing! Anyways, the one huge turnoff about your mod has to be the lack of updating. Even if its that somebody's cat dies, you need to do a weekly update, as people get bored of waiting and think your dead! Trust me, from the views I've heard about, to little to late seems ot be the common theme!

On a lighter note, just saw your ingame harrier shots! Awesome! You guys rock!
Bring on PR 0.1 Can't wait to play the UK!

                  Re: TotalBF2 Interviews Project Reality

just one thing to add, on the trailer website, you have an image on the right of the US, ontop is the littlebird, then you have the harrier, but which class is that with the headset on the left, and is that a spec ops with the jungly jungly cloth hat? Its been bugging me all morning now!

really wanna try out the MK12 now! take down some arab in the head . Aslo, is that the same sig thats in your medi gallery? Seriously guys, you have a great mod, but update your site a little! the media gallery looks outdated by a long shot! if you guys put as much effort into the website as the mod, it would be awesome! Cookies for the devs all round, really phsyced for PR 0.1 now!

If you have the latest version of QT, which is 7 you will have the codec it needs as the vid was done using the new h.264 codec.

                          Enjoy!

                            I love your mod guys.

What I'd like to see though is a central server where everyone goes too. I try the gloryhoundz server, but right now there are a dozen or more servers with your mod, and no central place. The game is fantastic with a couple dozen people.

                            See what you can do
