    Re: 1.2 Patch Update

hehe the only reason for getting the "booster" patch is probly the same for getting SF.. to pown people in the vanilla BF2 with the unlocks.. i mean the FS2000/bangs are god like! I was at the hotel in Mashure city and i was taking fire from a jerk in the building across from the flag, whip out my flash chuck it in there BANG! i run up with my knife and there is 5 people firing everything they had into the wall, it was chop, chop, chop, chop, chop! not to mention when i flashed the BH and the just pilot with full load goes smashing into a building so GOOD! Also that mp7 it damn crazy at close range

I only wish i had zip and grapple and tear gas in normal game.....

But i agree with the splitting of the community, seeing how they are "booster" packs they should give some portions away for free like the maps/vehicles.... make the new weapons only goto those who purchase it... but as Dice handles balancing this probly will not work..

Also does anyone find it strange its called a "booster" pack?? its like a drug reference bf was the first sample it was free now it's PAY CRACKHEAD PAY! maybe some people can go visit EA and and do "other" type of payment hehe

Yeah, and it's one thing to UPGRADE something. It's another to sell the computer WITHOUT those parts, and then say you have to pay more to get them. It's also another thing to change the way you handle patches and new content from title to title from making the masses happy to screwing them out of money, but that's another debate.

Demo? Quite frankly, the demo bahaved better than the retail release. And oddly enough, the red nametag glitch, which showed up in the demo, STILL hasn't been fixed, and yet they continue to try and sell their expansions/boosters/extortions with a broken game, and not give the mod and clan support they promised the community pre-release. Did you even read the previews and watch the videos of Battlefield before the game was released? From the way you're talking, I'm guessing you didn't. This game still has much to live up to from what it was marketed to be, there's no denying that.

          Re: 1.2 Patch Update

OK. Before I crack the valves on my Oxygen/Acetylene tanks. I would like to say "I look fowards towards new patches." Good or bad I like the changes in overall gameplay. This creates a new gaming experience, i.e The old tactics(tricks) don`t work anymore, and there is a bit of time before players find the new ****Y tactics.

Now I take out my striker and ignition. A little more Oxygen so the flame is a nice blue. WTF OMFG and AYFK. Give us a new map or two by now. Give the Chinese and Mec units different weapons. Increase 3-D performance, especially on low/mid range machines. Make the BF-Recorder work without lagg. WTF happened to laser target designation.

Can EA/DICE afford not to hire a few, or even a dozen more employees for 6 months or so. I am hapy to have the game earlier with a few bugs than wait like 5-6 years for HL2. However the time has come for the game to be completed.

As for new content. The mod community does it for free. The BF2 editor should have bean out andfinnished earlier to give the mod guys a head start.

EA/DICE If you are having difficulty with a certain feature. Hire or simply pay someone in a well trusted mod. You want atmosphere and winter maps call the boys at Forgotten Hope. If you want weapon system tweaks and great modern vehicles Point of Existence guys are there for you.

I don`t mind paying every few months for New content. Just get on with it. This would mean an ever improving/changing gameplay experience. Hell we may even get dynamic weather and day/night cycles, or other features i was dreaming of pre BF2 Demo release.

With all the flaming of EA/DICE I have read in the forums. I wonder how the gamemakers feel. I am sure thier pride gets a little hurt. I am also sure Most of the slashing of good ideas, and implementation of questionable ones are the fault of Administrative Employees i.e. An attack helicopter with only 8 rockets. Remimber the HIND in Desert Combat (One of the best ballanced games/mods I can remember).

So please give us what I want so there will be less Moan and More own in the forums.

Laser designation takes about....20 minutes to put in, and that's including the tracking code on the various bombs. The SIMRAD is half to two-thirds done, only thing I noticed not working on it was the HUD, which was severely broken. Hiring new people? They don't NEED to hire new people, the gameplay tweaks take all of about half a day to do in each patch, and it takes them months to get to us.

As far as DICE and their abilities, and how the flaming makes them feel, I'm unsure. While a lot of people say to BLAME DICE and not EA, I personally think it's the other way around. I would like to see what Battlefield would be without EA breathing down DICE's neck all the time and forcing them to do things. Be interesting to see what DICE would make if allowed to think freely instead of having to conform to EA's decisions. Battlefield might just NOW be about to release, but I think we'd have a better product.

                  Jesse,

I did a Google search for "Battlefield 2 review". The first 3 links that came up:
                  http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/battlefield-2/626911p1.html
                  <o:p></o:p>http://www.firingsquad.com/games/battlefield_2_review/
                  <o:p></o:p>http://pc.ign.com/articles/627/627218p1.html

These reviews describe just exactly what I got with my purchase of BF2. What review / preview did you see that promised something other than what you got?

I was sold a complete game. Sorry you were not.

The red name for a friendly bug. Yes, its there. I see it in about 1 in 100 games. I know they have not given up on getting it solved, but it is an anoyance at worst.

The plain vanilla version of BF2 lives up to the reviews. It has what the reviews say it should have. If you have a different review, post the link.

Check this out, it's only one kind of 40mm grenade. But it seems to be what they are using in BF2. A dual purpose grenade. Wow it's hard to believe that EA may put in something that is close to real life. Or should I say that they are fixing. One good thing though is that with the release of the first booster in Febuary then the patch is close to release. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m433.htm

Keyword: REview. Not PREview. Why not try googling a preview and see if someone still has some pre-release material. Chances are you're going to hear about stuff and either say "wtf is that?" or "that's in Special Forces...I thought this was a vanilla preview". Those reviews are doing nothing but stating something that someone who has the game knows anyway. Like I said, the previews, as in PRE-release, as in before the game came out. Go look some of those up.

Your the one making the claims. You do the search and post your proof here.

That's quite alright. If you wish to find the truth, you'll seek it for yourself. You seem to be proficient with google, and I'm sure adding the letter p to review can't be THAT hard of a concept for you.

Besides, nearly the only thing in this topic now is our debate over this matter, I do believe this thread needs laid to rest. :p

Found this on a dutch BF2 site, www.battlefield2.nl. It's supposed to be the releasenotes for 1.2:

                                http://pnmedia.gamespy.com/planetbat...changelist.gif

Don't know of it has been posted before, sorry if it has.

Most interesting: " server setting to allow friendly fire to be off on mines without affecting other weapons".
