Experience WWII Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Experience WWII mod website. They are showing off some new tanks that will be featured in their mod. Here's what they had to say about each:
Original order was for 500 to be built by Krupp-Gruson. This was increased when Vomag received an order for 100 and Nibelungenwerke for 25. Before these were all completed the OKH ordered that the rest of the order have 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/43 installed as soon as possible and a total of 25 were converted to Ausf F2s. Supplementary armor plates abandoned. Improved ball mount for MG. Single door on side was replaced by double door. New sprocket and idler wheels. The vision and pistol ports, driver's visor, hull MG mount, and turret doors were modified because of increased armor.

Initially 1,750 were ordered, and of those 10 chassis were used for Hummel prototypes and 53 chassis for Brummbär. Dropped vision ports from turret sides. New cupola with thicker armor and single hatch cover. In the summer of 1942 a new muzzle brake with a double baffle and a system to allow transfer of coolant to aid in cold weather starting was installed (Kühlwasser-Austauscher). In January 1943 the driver's scope was eliminated. In 1943 Schürzen we installed to the side of the hull and the turret. Late production Ausf Gs had new drive sprocket and radio antenna was moved to left hull rear. 75 mm gun had double baffle muzzle brake. Starting on June 20, 1942, extra armor was bolted or welded on to approximately 700. 1,275 received the 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/43. From late March 1943 the 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 was installed.

Also noted in the update, they are still looking for members to fill all open positions. To apply and read more information on the tanks, visit their site here.

The skings look too low resolution, and the models look to polygonal. This isn't Battlefield 1942, you can't get away with that quality anymore.

Nice job, but I'd like to see them look a little "grittier" if you know what I mean.

hehe remember we're still doing this stuff for free :)

What are you talking about Chellis 'we can't get away with this quality?' Otherwise.....? Ur going not going to play our mod? hehehe.
Anyway the way we're working @ xww2 is that as soon as we have something ingame we show some shots to show what we're working on. This is not the final product, this is a WIP(which means Work In Progress) example, in first case we showed the pz III J indeed without 3d tools, though they have them now. Got my point? We keep improving everything we have done so far. This is just a snapshot of what we've done so far.

Of course Chellis ur going to flame the hell out of me, I read your comments @ Shattered Faith's update and other mod updates so I know what kind of guy you are, but yeah maybe you should start modding too? Maybe that will teach you a bit more respect.

And Augustus, to me it looks like they're yellow, though I admit the colour should be tweaked a littlebit.

Anybody else thanks a lot for your comments tips etc. We'll look into it! :)

                      looks good guys

i have some suggestions though.. try to make the skin a bit more desert looking.. meaning the coulor sould be about the same coulor as the sand. the yellow and greenish stands out abit..

and try to make the barrel look abit more round and ofcourse add 3d tools like you did with your pziiiJ.

Just because you are doing it for free, doesn't mean you are devoid of criticism. If you didn't want people to comment on your work, you shouldn't have posted it.

Nobody said anything about paying for anything, so you are just spouting off for nothing. You can't get away with that quality, and have people think its good quality. Its not a hard thing to understand.

I have seen XWW2 talk about how it will improve its quality later, etc. Show it, don't say it. I have yet to see XWW2's quality improve in any of its news. All I've heard is meaningless talk.

You assume I don't mod. Just because I don't talk about what I do on here, doesn't mean I don't mod. I've been a modeler for years, as well as having experience with coding, etc. But this isn't about me.

Its not a respect issue at all. I respect modders. However, low quality work is low quality work. If the mod team cant handle criticism of their work, they should either not post it for others to see, improve their quality, or just ignore it.

I found your 'You can't get away with this' rather aggresive and not being necessary to say at all.

But yeah, ignoring you would probaply the best LOL :p

                              Re: Experience WWII Mod Update

Hmmm, the problem doesn't lie within the tank color, but more the color of the terrain. The camoflauge color scheme it uses is Dunkel**** used by the Afrika Korps, though weathering, and wear and tear will come in the future. And whats with this talk about getting away with quality? Noones going anywhere...that's crazy. The tanks will stay at a certain range of pollies because it's a matter of time before you figure out yourself that you can't put even 10 abrams on a map and have them near eachother.

By the way I would like to see some examples of your work Chellis...Mister Expert.
