Today the 2nd campaign of the highly successful Battlefield 2 tournament, 21st Century Warfare, has officially begun. Unlike other Battlefield 2 tournaments, 21CW is completly and totally free. All you need to play in the tournament is a copy of Battlefield 2, Teamspeak RC2 and the 21CW mod. This mod enhances the gameplay and makes the gameplay more enjoyable. A small fee of $5 applies to applicants who would like to switch to a different division than the one that they were assigned to.<br><br>Here is a little rundown of what 21st Century Warfare is. 21CW was created back in the Battlefield 1942 days for the mod Desert Combat. Once Battlefield 2 was released, the tournament moved from Desert Combat over to Battlefield 2. Today, 21st Century Warfare is the largest free Battlefield 2 tournament with over 340 active members. After you are assigned a division and company, your commander will tell you the practice dates, along with the battle dates. Each Friday or Saturday, one division will play the other in a massive 12 hour battle. If you are interested in signing up for 21st Century Warfare, please click here. USMC Is gonna rock the opposition divisions this camapign. BRING IT!
btw-21CW is better then clan play so all you clan guys come and give it a try. You can still play in your clan and play in 21CW. 21CW is Not a clan.(except our cal team)
21CW is more like a MMORPG, only real people and huge battles on BF2. I'v been playing there for about 3 years and will never go back to clan play. Good times. -

i tried to sign up with them back when DC was popular, the only thing i didnt like is that you have to pass a series of tests to be accepted, kinda like AA. even though i have been playing since 2002, i still have to qualify?Comment

I joined 21CW a few weeks ago and got in on the last battle of the previous campaign. I was really impressed by the coordination and teamwork. The battle preparations and battles were actually planned and well executed. It was a completely different dimension of the game.

What does the mod change? What's the time commitment for battles and practices? Does "a massive 12 hour battle" mean playing BF2 for 12 hours? It's all very unclear on the website.Comment

This mod really intruiged me, so I downloaded it. I am part of the armoured division, and am ready to fight. So when does the event happen? This was also the first mod I downloaded, so I really need to test the waters. I know, my sentence structure was really out of whack, but I had to post them even though they were out of place.Comment

21CW excists out of 4 Divisions; 2 Coalition (US) divisions and 2 Oppositions (MEC) divisions
Each Division has a Rank structure with ever division having a General leading the divisions
The General has in return his Colonel and other officers to help him out with his job
Every division has 4 Line companies with each having their captains and lieutenants training and leading their companies
these companies take and hold flags on the maps they are ordered to take and hold by the battlefield commander (this is usually the General or another High Ranked Officer)
Every division also has his Airforce and Special Forces (these require try outs as they have high standards...best man for the job)
Airforce mans all the helicopters and jets on the map (duh)
Special forces are in there to infiltrate behind enemy lines and do special tasks as destroying the enemy commanders assets or other special missions as stealing the enemies their jets or helicopters
21CW gives you all the BF2 action but now adds a roleplaying game in it where you can work your way up to leading your own company and who knows... maybe one day your own division
