Codename Eagle: Legends Mod Released

As the title states, there is some exciting news posted today over at the <a href="http://bf2ce.rex3d.net/" target="_blank">Codename Eagle: Legends</a> mod website. They have released v0.3 that includes a number of great changes. Here's what they had to say:<blockquote>The CE: Legends mod team is proud to present our first public beta release 0.3! CE: Legends is a total conversion mod that pays tribute to Codename Eagle, a game released in 1999. The timeline is around WWI including biplanes, early tanks, a motorcycle, even a giant zeppelin blimp. Gameplay is geared for action and each player starts out with an array of weapons to choose from. The level “No Man’s Land” is included in this build of the mod along with support for several original BF2 levels that use new gamemodes. It's bloody fun on No Man's Land if you get an entire clan playing.

TO THE BLIMP!

Watching a deadly blimp slowing work it's way to your base, as you watch a dozen biplanes kamakazee into it and rockets flare up from the ground to hit it.

It's really fun, single player, the only weird thing is that pistols are the most accurate and powerful (not inlcluding sniper rifle) handheld weapons in the mod

man I remember this mod when it came out for BF1942! I think it was the first mod ever for BF42... I remember playing it for days at a time with my friends on LAN. No mans land is fun as hell ...you better download this!!

The sad thing is that I actually played the original CE back in 99' on my old computer (was looking for a game to FAQ). The original is pretty...mediocre, but this mod looks promising. I'll give it a try and post a description of it in my next BF2 FAQ update.

I just finished playing a few maps , and this mod is loads of fun . It has infinite running , plus tons of ammo and weapons at your disposal .

Some of the weapons include a flamethrower , dual weilded pistols , a sniper rifle , a mortar launcher .. . And you carry about 6 or so weapons at once - and I mean useful weapons. . . I think that every weapon loadout includes a machine gun and flamethrower on top of your specialty weapons and grenades .

I highly recommend this mod ! It's a blast !
