        Re: TotalBF2 Joins Forces!

If popups are the only negative to come out of it then just view TotalBF2 in Firefox. Plus, in order to keep us coming back to even SEE the popups, they'd have to offer something more than is already offered. Otherwise, if we don't like the site we can bookmark all the mods we are looking forward to, keep an eye on ATI, nVidia and EA websites for updates and patches, and someone like the Sir community would simply open up a PB forum or otherwise.

I'm not saying that's all TotalBF2 does, I'm just saying that no one is going to buy TotalBF2 and then drive away all of the customers simply to attempt and grab a few random clients who got here through search engine keyword spamming. They'd make more money by turning around and reselling the domain.

          Re: TotalBF2 Joins Forces!

As it stands this union will allow for the site to be developed further as we came to a point in the life of totalbf2 where it takes a lot of resources in the sense of people's time to keep it operating.

Also don't forget this is not the first time we have joined forces with a company to allow us to grow. This is infact the third company we have gone with and every time it was positive for the community even though it meant more work for the staff. So please, what ever you do just don't say we are trying to screw our community or something as this is all infact exactly FOR the community.

            Anyone remember good ole' BF42.com?
That was a great site for BF42 news, extremely user-friendly, very popular by it's users, had a unique community of friendly non-noobs.
Then it's owner, "Acutus", decided it was time to take the site to the next level. It was sold to a guy called "Jeremy" aka "Summit".
With every "improvement" they made, more users decided to leave. More mergers/acquisitions followed, until it was finally part of the "Amped" company.
I don't think a single user from the old community still goes there, they all hated the new site, even though they told us it was getting better.

Some of the diehard fans of the old BF42.com site made a new community by the way, over at www.thebattlefields.com.

I hope this site doesnt get changed too much, and the new owners dont get greedy and start making the site unusable by ads everywhere...

Calm down guys. TotalBF2 is an awesome site and we are not interested in changing the way it is run (with the exception of the Google ads which will be removed). Let me explain who we are and why we purchased TotalBF2.

MyInternetServices.com was started by two guys who loved playing BF1942 at 21stCenturyWarfare.com. The two guys Crrrazzzy and Napoleon talked for hours about how they didn't like the way 21CW was being run and that it was losing players. After discussing this issue for many hours and talking to other players in the tournament they decided just to buy it. MyInternetServices.com was born….

Because 21CW was not making even enough money to pay for the battle server, we decided to make MyInternetServices.com into a hosting company. One thing led to another and we have turned this little company to a big company. Today MyInternetServices.com hosts thousands of websites, over 100 BF2 Ranked servers, 8 gaming tournaments, is an EA Trusted Partner, the only NovaLogic Trusted Partner and is loved by most of the players in our tournaments.

We did not purchase this site to run it into the ground! If anything, we will bring a lot of talented people around to help improve the forums. Trust me, if we wanted to make money we would not have purchased this site. The whole idea for us is to get you guys to bring up our name when someone asks you if you know a good hosting company.

            Give us a chance...

            HOORAH!

You can rest reassured that we will remain the same way we have before, it can only get be better for you guys from this point. That's what I strive for, the community. Obviously words mean nothing, it's the action that tells all.

Just their company name gives me the scares of adware and spyware.

MyInternetService is nothing to worry about when it comes to adware and spyware. Since for onething the only thing he said he was going to do that I saw in his post up there, was to get RID of the Google Ads. WHICH IS A GOOD THING! Those dirty things take over some websites. We are going back to what we knew. That awesome site that didnt have an add after every first post. However im not sure if thats the google ad but still. Its for the better. Hopefully they will raise me above working with just the Map Team. But I love helping the community so on a side note...

LOOK FORWARD TO TBF2 Map Pack 3 In the coming month or 2.
