The BF2 ingame menu, apparently. :)

Anyway, how about some reviews from people who HAVE played it? How similar is it to BF42 CTF? What works great, what needs work? Etc.

I played it a lot last night. The Ball becomes this glowing sphere when attached to a vehicle, pretty cool. There are some issues to work out of course. First releases often need a couple tweaks. The c4 all over the flag is lame IMO, but thats up to the server and there rules. Were going to host it on our unranked and wont allow C4 on the flag. It makes for a real low score and doesnt really encourage skill against skill. Base raping was a pain as well. You know those guys that park a tank outside a spwan and just blow everyone away as they pop up. That does not impress me children, doesnt take any skill to rape a base. Get the damn flag or go back to mommy, LOL.

I had a blast palying though, the intensity of the firefights at the main flag pojnts were the heaviest Ive ever seen. Topping even the DEMO release of BF2 itself. Wake island was the best of the three maps IMO.

If you'r wondering, how to create a Dcon CTF icon to your desktop, try this:

            - Go to your desktop, click the second mouse button anywhere on a clear area there.

            - Choose "new icon".

            - Now there should open a new window, type to the field the root of your bf2.exe-file. "bf2.exe-root" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/dcon.

            - Then press "next" and type the icon name and you'r finished.

It looks like this with me:

            "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/dcon

My little experience of the Dcon CTF mod:

I played today at Desert Conflict CTF: UK =GCHQ= server, and i can say that i had so much fun. Driving with the buggy to the enemy flag, kill two units, cap the flag, and drive back home FAST! All the bullets whispering in my ears and driving very fast to the homebase. It was just so great.

I would like to thank the Dcon Devs for their great work. Keep up the good work with your upcoming DC mod!

              Re: DCon CTF v0.01 Released

It works great and you guys did an excellent job.

              Some thoughts:
              - Don't give points for killing, people still want to get the best personal score and don't care about capping the flag. People should only get points for stealing, capturing, defending or retrieving the flag. Maybe keep the teamplay points in but make the points for "flag actions" much higher.
              - Flag layout in Wake should be the same as in BF1942, the airfield should be the only area that can be conquered and used as an extra spawnpoint. Putting spawnpoints so close to the flags that can be stolen you promote spawnkilling, I played a round where I was killed three times in a row after I spawned with no chance to take even one step.

Those are good points bro, and I agree. I will post them in the Developers section on the DCON site. We always like the good directions, especially when there not in the form of attacks. If you do any coding, you know that EA did not make the Code MOD friendly, as they might have people believe. Every tweak can turn into a nightmare, but the fixes are already being applied.

That would be just a complete opposite of what I was trying to point out

Is it just me or does Carrying flag make you lag?

I haven't lagged when carrying the flag. The flag indicator above you seems a little jerky, but the player itself is smooth enough.

YOu won't lag, though the model that hovers above you does look like its lagging.

Because the globe is positioned by setPosition() in python x times a second, it looks jerky. And unfortunatly we can't make the game predict the object like it does with vehicles so that they look smoother :)
