What is "CE Legends" all about, and where can I get this? I'd like to see their rendition of CTF. I love CTF! :)

Don't get your hopes up playing CTF on this mod, at least not until they rethink their release philosophy. I was pumped up about having the opportunity to play CTF this weekend, but it appears that they will only release this mod to 4 or 5 servers, total. I think there will be thousands of players wanting to play CTF and will not be able to. This would be a monumentally bad decision on the part of this mod team. I understand they want the opportunity to work out some bugs, but why make such a big deal out of annoucing a CTF release with a countdown timer and all, if you are not actually going to release it. If it's just a beta test, call it that so everyone doesn't get their hopes up. Come on DC team, this is an EA type decision that could hurt more than help.

well then you need to specify why you posted what you did.. said they want access to your server could mean anything. Because our lead coder is setting up the servers so they can be configed correctly. If they run bf2cc we have to actually do things differently to get it to work properly. Its not as simple as just plopping it in and making a profile. The mod is being setup on trusted servers to mitigate problems with bugs or errors in server setup. Thats why. If you dont agree with it and you own a server then dont apply. If you wish to run a server and speak with the ctf lead coder and have it setup fine. Either way suits us just fine. We would like to run the stuff on a high end server with a ability to handle maximum capacity. We arent just letting any tom **** or jane run this.

So, let me get this strait. I've looked at your website, and, as far as I can tell, you've released the mod to a grand total of 4 servers? I read your reasoning about "quality control" and can understand wanting to not make a bad impression... but at the same time, 4 SERVERS? Congratulations, you just mad a bad impression anyway. The "release" is posted here, at planetbf, all over the place. You have, at this second, THOUSANDS of people want to play on 4 servers. Even at 64 a server, that's only 256 people playing CTF. IN THE WORLD.

What on earth were you thinking? We all want CTF, we all want DCon for that matter. This isn't exactly the way to garner support for your cause. Now, if I want to play CTF, I've got to wait in line with the other million people, hitting refresh every two seconds.

Way to go. You just made me not want to play CTF. What a huge friggin hastle. Loosen up a little, spread the servers around and maybe you won't have tons of people ****ed at you come Monday.

It makes sense to me. I could just picture giving out the CTF map to a ton of servers that dont have thier act together, then rumors spilling all about that the DCON crew dont know what there doing. There will be plenty of servers running it shortly, and I cant wait to play some CTF, its been too long.

The Flag is surrounded by a sphere that actually rolls down hill if dropped. I can just picture a group of people chasing a flag down the streets of karkand like a soccer ball, all the while tube and grenades a flyin!!! LOL

How many people who run a server don't KNOW how to run a server? Most people who run ranked servers run through a provider who does everything for them, but that's not who we're talking about. We're talking about private, independently run servers. You're telling me that thousands of server owners are stupid? That's a great way to say "thank you" to your fans.

"Hey, we got this cool mod... oh, nevermind, you're too stupid and we don't trust you to run it properly"

I'm willing to bet there are hunderds of server, right this second, with fairly intelligent admins, that could have this mod running in a few minutes.

I'm wanting to play CTF as much as anyone, but I'm not going to wait in line to do it. But hey, if you want to wait out in the cold for your preverbial Xbox on release day, only to be screwed, then be my guest.

Jesus Christ people... We are updating this list. It will not be four friggin servers. Get your panties all straightened out and wait until later when you see that we have more than four. Relax. I think a few of you are forgetting that these guys are putting hundreds of hours of their OWN time into this mod. They should be able to do as they wish since NO other mod team is doing ANY of this for you. The minute that we start charging you to download or play this stuff is the minute you can complain about this, a CTF mod that is being GIVEN to you by a bunch of selfless guys that create it. Desert Conflict could have easily done what all of the other mod teams are doing and wait a few more months until they have an official full mod release.

Let me say that DrBunsenhoneydew would not be very good as a PR person. No one is calling anyone an idoit bro, except you. If you have all the answers, than make a mod yourself. Its a ton of work, and most people with all the verbal spouting have never been involved in one.

Uhh..ya. Definately jumping the gun on that one...

We are placing servers in the best position to serve everyone, that's why we needed the info.

We just added another 3 servers in the last hour with about another 4 coming in the next two hours... don't count your servers before they're installed.

GJ must be a bit embarrassing for EA/DICE though!
They should have included the game modes that the public loved in the original BF1942.
So it took a mod to beat them to implementing it.

BTW Does Frank Delise support you guys?

Desert Conflict has 0 relation to any of the Desert Combat developers i believe.
