DLed the patch from Cloudfile in 30 min. Installed patch. Fired up BF2 and cant even connect to login. Error states "There was an error connecting a socket". Help please.

Ah nuts! Looks like I'll have to patch before BF2:SF arrives, as it seems all the servers I play on have already updated.

The patch installed fine for me and I only dl'ed in 5 mins from FP :) Plus the game looks way better with my X800XL compared to my 9800pro, hehe.

i found the time problem DO NOT DLD FROM EA i went to another site and it took me ten minutes to dld the patch idont know what is up w/ ea dld program

i wouldnt say so im running a sata raid 0 and ive got no trouble installing it and it works fine....

On download times;

I checked last night @ 10PM on fileshack as a registered user; # 400-ish in the que and a 45 minute download when you got there. (my clanmates were in process.)

Didn't bother and played old version/servers for the night.

Woke up this morning 8AM EST and fileshack had no wait & 5 minute download without even bothering to login.

Load it off-peak and avoid the wait.

If you guys are wondering, why the 1.12 patch is so big, it's big because it includes all the latest updates.

Yes, you need to only download this patch, because as i said it includes all the lates updates (1.01, 1.02, 1.03).

ok, i just installed new patch, i got reg bf2, and when i started game, graphics were EXTREMELY wacked, im loggin onto a server now to see if gameplay graphics have gone to hell to, but i dont know if this is me, or the patch is screwed up???

almost everything is gray, and im inclined to think that its a bug on my end, cuz i cant see any medals or complex graphics, so.... crap
EDIT** yea, this is WAY bad, when i got in a server, i saw all blue, its the bf2 version of the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH, AHH THEYRE WORKING WIHT WINDOWs!!
