Re: Battlefield 2: Special Forces Site Update

I saw the video and i think it was great even though it is a video. There are allot of things i thought that are in SF, which should have been in BF2. The buggies, ATV, boats, the features look really cool. I just wonder if we will be able to play these maps on either BF2 or SF. Iam impressed and i hope that their are less problems and isn’t put out half ass like that of BF2.

Will thier be DVD and CDROM Version? I havent seen anything other than DVD.

Some quick math tells us that its around a buck for every new thing in the xpansion. New maps, vehicles armies and new toys. Now How many times are you going to get your moneys worth for that buck????? Camon!!!!!!!!!!!
What do you really have to lose?

Are they? How could you say that? The biggest problem that I have with the game is that it fails to deliver. It does not include great music like BFV. The bullet trajectory is totally fake. They should make a bullet more real. They should have a scope that zooms in and out. That way you can really zoom in on your target. The vehicle tk problem is still a problem. You drive by slowly and you've somehow tked half your team. bf42 desert combat mod is more fun. The desert combat graphics are better. Some of their city maps where amazing. The maps are still too small. They need to create very large maps like bf2 included. Specially with jets. By the time you get up you have to turn a tight circle. The maps are larger than BFV, but not large enough. I still can't understand why they don't have clouds, weather and day and night cycles and why players can't swim underwater. They should take a look at JointOperations and GTA for inspiration and ideas on how to push the limit. I have amazing hardware I would like a game to use it. Also, desert combat had cloud cover you could fly through. They hard very large maps that were great for air combat. Personally I've gone back to playing BF42/FH/XWWII/DC. Their more fun and I can tweak them with the hardware I have to look, sound great and play great. Maybe DICE/EA should port BF42/BFV to BF2. They can give it to the Dice Canada and then sell it as an add on. That I would buy!

I think your right also...You have about 2 years on a good computer and then its time to either upgrade or start over. I see this all the time w/ customer computers that come in for upgrading. They bought the top of the line a couple of years ago and now they are mad because it will not play every game at max settings. That is the way it is folks...you have to pay to play.

Ahhhhh but you see here lies the problem. The expacks wernt dissapointing. They were, in all actuallity......FuN! The dissapointing thing, was that EA really didnt pump you up enough to buy it. And lets be honest.....how many servers ran expacks for bf1942? Could count them on your hands.
No, i disagree, the expacks were cool, and fun. Its just EA didnt make the big push.
However with Special Forces......big push, more fun. I believe you'll see tons of servers with this expack running.
And i still say this...however i do not know for sure, but lets be real....
Servers will be able to run BF2 maps and SF seemlessly. So you might play 2 rounds of Kark.....then a few rounds of a SF map. Of course you'll need the expack or you'll get the ol' Version Mismatch Kick.
Instead of comming up with an ANTI BUY campaign for Special Forces......
Hell right now im gonna start the official....

I have actually bought all bf games and expacks. r2r was not that bad. i thought that the problem with sw was that some of the maps were too small and by the time you got the jets up in the air you had to make a tight turn. i hate flying ovals. i like large maps like el alamein or larger for their air dog fights. dc did a great job with this map.

yes the problem is that so little servers run the expacks maps.

the only way servers will run them is if they are required to run them as part of the ranked servers point and medal system. this would force more people to buy the mod.

I think the SF looks very good and i think that what they made out of SF is what they should have made BF2. Though perhaps they can made a good run with the SF and build on BF2 as well. It would seem that the past ones didnt work out that way though i think EA has gotten it right with this SF for BF2. Its got alittle of everything i think from what i have seen so far. I am very much looking forward to it.

This is all the stuff that was meant to be in BF2......That didn't get done in time, or that had too many bugs to go with the intial release of BF2. This is going to bring all the nay-sayers back to BF2
