Looks good. Relax people it is a movie. And very likely the lead in to BF2:SF
Look at the lead in to BF2. Is that how an actual battle in BF2 would look? There is alot of shooting and little dieing as a result. No bunny hopping or dolphin diving. But this gives you a look at some of the game capabilities and toys. New toys are good.

Brings many aspects of some of the popular special forces games to this game. ie flash bangs, tear gas etc... Looks fun.

There was supposed to be some new attack choppers and armored vehicles. Did not see them in the trailer? :cry: Show me more :cry:

I admit the video looked awsome, but we all know that wasn't the way the gameplay will really be. Its just like the BF2 Intro verses the actual gameplay.

Yup.

I find it funny how in the beggining everyone is shooting each other for like a minute and no one dies. EA workers have really bad aim.

By the time you make it across the vast stretch of water on a jet ski or boat the enemy artillery will already be raining down on your head, enemy jets will be bombing you out of existance and whatever's left will be finished off with a few dozen nade launchers.

wow ... it seems they added objective mode... looks nice...(oh and was that c4 timed ?? lol) zipline also looked awesome... the only thing i'm mad bout is that they didn't add more weapons...but the movie was freakin sweet(cough edited)

No, the maps are conquest maps as in BF2.

1. Will current Ranked BF2 servers be able to run BF2 maps and Special Forces maps at the same time? For example:
Map Rotation:
-BF2 Map
-BF2 Map
-BF2 SF Map
-BF2 Map

.....

For the time being, ranked servers will run either BF2 or Special Forces maps. No mixed map/mod support will not be available in this release. Possibly part of a future release/patch.

14. The promo stuff talks about closing doors. Does this imply indoor areas? Or will this be fencing around a perimeter?

World interaction for the players has been enhanced in many ways. One of these is that switches will allow players to open and close gates, raise/lower elevators and so on. There are indoor areas such as hallways in buildings, but it remains a primarily outdoor game experience.

hehehe funny to see all the SF bashers here...
personally i thought the vid was mad - take out the handheld camera effect and at least it gives you an indicator of what the environment will look like in game...
as i expected the dynamic lighting and effects in this expansion are going to kik a$$.

i said it once and i'll say it again - if your not going to buy this expansion then you do that... i know what i'll be doing...



i am going to send an even more powerful message to EA by buying their expansion and letting them know that any additional content or attention given to BF2 will make them more money... to all the genuines out there - see you in the dark...

Vid Looks awesome.. But as it has been said before i'm sure gameplay will be very different.. A definite purchase for me. It would be nice if it was different to BF2 with gameplay being a little slower giving rise to more tactical and team based combat. Planing an attack on a CP rather than everyone just running about with a PKM or jumping a chopper/tank etc... It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

The only thing I can add that hasnt already been said Is what is the "tenative" date of release? Yes I know this is EA/Dice and I remember the way that they did patch 1.03. Anyone?..Red

I think I read somewhere that it is due for release on the 15th November '05.. How true this is though i'm not sure!!! And that is probably a US date. UK will more likely be about 10 days later...
