There is a new update posted today by the Surreal mod team. Here's what they had to say:
Ok so first up, I've finally figured out how to add our own icon to the hud rather than using bf2 hummers and the like. Also finally sorted out the teams proper and kits etc. Brian and I have managed to figure out a way of getting his stuff ingame, so watch out for his cool stuff coming very soon.
This converted Civilian Camper Van has had a turret fitted, complete with a light Cannon. Armour Plated sheet has been added around the windows for added protection. The turret is taken from a destroyed Militia Scout Car. If you think it looks vaguely like a famous Earth Camper Van, then your probably right. Mentioning no names, hehe.

To view this entire update from the Surreal team, head on over here.

Re: Surreal II Mod Update
You need to read the storyline on very first page. An alternative reality mod is about the closest way to explain it.
Militia are a police/army, Rebels are, well a rebel army, equipped with civilian converted stff. Surreal technology isnt as advaced in military areas as we are. But there are also alien atrefacts on there planet, which adds another dimension to everything. Civilian vehicles are just cool stuff to play with.Comment

Re: Surreal II Mod Update
In a nutshell? It's about having fun. Most mods try to stick within a specific theme like a certain war, or era in warfare, or in some cases a specific type of gameplay. Surreal is by design an amalgam of esoteric ideas thrown together in a spirit of fun, so you'll see WWI era planes dogfighting with WWII fighters and some alien ships along with blimps and movie props. The environments could be the old west, or an alien world, a campground, or even a 1950's shopping plaza. Bill's even come up with a gameplay modification that has cars pushing around a big soccer ball to try and score a point in the opposing team's goal. We're also trying to get some other things going on like race tracks (ground and aerial). The mod's not big on realism and that gives us the opportunity to do some wacky stuff that you'll definitely not see elsewhere. I about lost my head laughing at the gun turret Bill added to the plane I'd modelled.Originally posted by BattleChimpSo what is this mod really about? I'm serious, I checked the website and couldn't get a grasp on what it is about.
Keep an eye open for future developments and try it out once it's released. I hope you'll find some genuine silly enjoyment.
