Iraq never had any T-80 tanks.

iraq indeed never had T-80's .. but they had their own tank variant, wich was an improved T-72 and was very close to the T-80 , the socalled Asad Babil ( lion of babylon ) :)

oh i didn't read the comments on the T-72's ..

iraq did had more then 3000 T'72 ( US sources !! ) before GW I

after GW 1 they had , also according to US sources , 300-500 T'72 ..

iraq did produce their own T-72 imorved variant, Asad babil, close to the T-80 and there are SOME reports that they recieved T-80's from syria ( i personnaly dont think so! ) ..

after GW 1 the iraqis were still able to make spare parts for their available T-72's instead of making whole new tanks .. the tank production was realy reduced after the war ..


that's all i know .. :) ! and am certain of it !

3000?, lol, I think you're stretching it there.

Iraq took delivery of 50 T-72's in 1979, then another 500 T-72's from 1982 - 1990.

huh ?! i am pretty sure it said in more than a militery site 2500-3000 !! and after the was 300-500 !

maybe am wrong but .. naah am sure ! lol u make me not sure bout my self
