Looks good, don't let the negative comments affect ya. Progress is going well so far and the quality seems to be improving.

they didnt steal them... the just recreated them exactly to use in a MOD of one of there games.

I think it looks great, but imo not as good as POE or PRMM,or Brickfield

Perhaps you should at least TRY to find out if they were indeed "stolen" from that game before you act like this? Thanks.

There are SO many mod teams viewing this forum, that it is really difficult to tell if some of these comments aren't just from other developers that don't like the other mods out there. It is very bad form to disrespect the work of another development team, so I hope some of the negative posts in here are people speaking honest truth, and not other developers trying to make a mod (that is not theirs) look bad.

Posts like the one I quoted are quite sketchy.

Oh, and by the way... there are other mods creating statics that are similar to the BF1942 ones. Why? Because the BF2 statics are cheap. 95% of them are closed, and it is clear that they were either A. rushed into the game because of time constraints, or B. created with no "insides" so that they would have less polygons and the game would not lag terribly.

you can also say they copied them from Desert Combat.

The EE-9 looks good, the shilka is OK but i don't like the rest of the skins.

And the T-80? Sure, lets also include the T-90 since BF2 already got it, aswell as other things Iraqis didn't have access to...

Although i am from a competative mod for DCon, i Respect them and their work, im just giving critique, no pun intended.

                        Re: Desert Conflict Update

OK.. I'm curious about the T-80 thing, and want to set this straight. I had heard from a few people that Iraq had T-80's at SOME point. I do not think it was during the first Gulf War, but perhaps they were purchased by Iraq under Saddam Hussein AFTER that. I don't know exactly why the T-80 was created for our mod, and not the T-55 or something, but I want to find evidence that the Iraqi Military had T-80 at least at some point recently. As long as they had them at some point under Saddam, I am happy.

"military air in desert storm pretty much destroyed the Iraqi military BEFORE the first tank rolled out. MOST of Iraqi T72's and T80's were destroyed by air. Airfields and command and control structures were destroyed by air. Et., et., et....
"Could" Desert Storm have been won without the aircraft? Certainly! But, it didn't happen that way."

"Iraq has used oil revenue to buy 550 T-80 Russian tanks, a top-of-the-line model it did not possess in last year's gulf war. It also has 880 T-72 tanks, compared to 150 estimated today..." -posted on the internet in 1992, JUST after the first Gulf War.

                        ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it's safe to say they did not possess any in the first Gulf War. They did, however, have them in the second war, apparently. Probably not many were used. I think, since we (the Desert Conflict team) are creating this to be mostly a mix of the two conflicts, we're alright. I personally would not have made a T-80 knowing this, but rather a T-55 or something. As long as they had T-80s in 1992 and later, I'm fine with it, I guess, and all of you should be too. Some people are saying that they didn't have T-80's in the more recent invasion. They are apparently wrong...

                            T-72 ^

And 550 T-80's? Thats more than Cyprus (41), Pakistan (320), South Korea (80), and the Ukraine (322), funny how Iraq doesn't pop up on any source I have, with they supposed 550.

Iraq never had T80s, even the T72s were only like 20% of its total armour.

Less than that, only very few T-72's were in Iraq, all for the Republican Guard.
