His first post and I agree with this man entirely. It's only new weapons (not necessarily better weapons either). The game's not ALL about ranks and weapons, it's about gameplay and teamplay.

No of course the game is not all about Ranks and weapons, and I never said that it was. It was a huge draw though, there were so many people in game saying things like "I'm about to get my first unlock which gun should I take?" or "Should I unlock gun A or gun B as my next unlock?". Nobody cares about that anymore because they will have almost all of the guns unlocked in about an hour or two anyway. For that matter look how many people post their game stats in their sig. People who try to deny that the rankings for commander and gun unlocks didn’t mean anything are kidding themselves.

Good game and team play alone won't cut it. People were already getting tired of the repetitiveness of going through the same maps over and over again on ranked servers. Wake Island will help but that will last for only so long then people will move on. The game rankings made a great incentive for people to come back to the game, work together and not to kill your own teammates.

Lowering the rank requirements will also lower a good portion of the replay value. People will get all the awards quickly and move on to the next game. I've already heard people talk in game about Battlefront 2 Beta. Making the ranks and awards hard to obtain, would IMHO have kept people coming back and made much more incentive for good game play (team killing etc). Which is what I think EA had in mind from the beginning, and as usual in EA's seemingly drunken stupor stomped all over that.

THe new ranking criteria...how to say....

I have just use one round to be promoted from Corpal to Master Gunnery Sergeant.

I do not blade that, but now everywhere are Sergeant classed players!!
Isn't that too low criteria? Or we have adapted in the old system and bosst up our score too much for the new system?

Even using a sniper, you can easily get at least 35 score per round....

Besides...the server filter still not working...
I set "not to show full servers" but it still show them up !!!

Dice just needs to reset the ranks back to 0 for everyone..unlock all the weapons..and bump up the points you need to get promoted to a different rank. They just lowered the point system to let everyone unlock all of the weapons. I just want a realisitc ranking system..I also don't like running around with Master Sergents everywhere I look. I just hope they didn't screw up the rank system too much, but I'm usually wrong.

I got Sergeant Major within 2 minutes of the patch being installed. Within 3 minutes I'd gained every available unlock. 5 minutes later I noticed I was Sergeant Major of the Corps. Bonus! I thought, cos I'd worked so hard as a grunt, a teamleader & a Commander to get the 60,000 points or so I'd earned already. I was dizzy...now I see that I only have 190,000 points to go to my next promotion :) .No problem I thought...then I realised my artillery doesn't gimme any team points or kill points any more.

Sure, I have all the unlocks. But I have to scroll to them every single game or I end up with the basic assault rifle like everyone else. It's a minor thing I know. But it does grate a bit doesn't it? Thinking postively though...at least I have a good chance of getting the Commander role..Groan

COMMANDER "U got to get in close & let your squad spawn on u. Try to hide so the enemy don't see u. Then the flag will be taken."
SQUAD LEADER "Ok, I tried that. But my squad members were the other side of the map. Anyway what's it worth to me if they take that flag?"
COMMANDER "Nothing, or very little really. But maybe u might get best squad leader if we win".
SQUAD LEADER "No way man! I'm going back to being a singleplayer! There's more points in it"
COMMANDER "Damn it he's gone...Oh look I have another squad. He's near a flag & he's requesting supplies too :). It could be my lucky day as Commander.
SQUAD LEADER "Thanks for the supplies Commander."
COMMANDER "No problem. Can u hit that flag now?"
SQUAD LEADER "No way man! I'm a sniper...I don't do flags. Besides I've only 14 more hours to go to get my sniper badge."
COMMANDER "OK, do me this one small favour then...Hold this airstrike on your head while I go post this bulls*** on Total Baffleyield!!!"
SQUAD LEADER "Requesting supply drop."
This support is not available as there is no Commander on your team!!!

They should take ranks away. Then everyone can whine about how bad their stats are when they suck, and point fingers at everyone with good stats calling them hackers. And noone will have to hear anything about the stupid rank system. Lesser of 2 evils.

damn is no one ever happy

is anyone even close to getting 2nd leiutenant or all the bagdes or medals getting to 200000 points in this game is still a major accomplishment.
what about playing for fun does everyone just care about silly medals what about being ranked overall winning the game for the team we get to test our skilz against people from around the world and once we pay for game we get to play for free

how about stop the wining and enjoy a pretty damn good game
and as for the chopper pilots crashing they are not tanks they are fragile flying instruments of course they will crash if u hit a tree or building so fly accoringly

is 2nd Lieutenant the highest rank bf2 is going up to? what about 1st lieutenant, captain, major? non of that ?

there may be, but no1 knows bcuz no1 has goten 2nd lieutenant yet (as far as i know) and EA wont release an official ranking guide so its imposible to figure it out untill someone reaches 2nd lieutenant.

I had to to leave my own squad to keep from being kicked and our squad had been doing extremely well.

fyi if u dint know, there is the option to kick people from your squad if your leader

My global score was like, 4263, and after killing one guy I jumped 2 ranks (Lance Corporal to Seargent). One word: W00T! ... now just gotta wait for the stats to update so I can unlock not one, but TWO(!!!) weapons yay ;P

I unlocked three today! Plus i got the mideast service ribbon and the far east service ribbon. This game kicks....
