The requirements for ranks has been drastically dropped. Chances are you will go up at least 1 rank when you kill someone, if not more ;P

I heard, that you need to install the patch with other windows account and yes, you get promoted by killing one enemy troop. Nice job EA/Dice.

Does anyone know if the requirements for weapon unlocks changed together with the promotion requirements? Just got bumped three steps from lance corporal to whateverthatis. Now I want to handle som new guns! Anyone?

no fun all this work to get sgt and one kill will boost me up, atleast i wont have to try to get to the next rank now :p

Just wait Sutaren. Takes time to update. There's a thread in General all about promotions/unlocks. I've been upped 2, yet 45 minutes later no unlock screen yet =[

OK, nice... But it is a bit lame, I agree. Now, when looking at the score board there'e strips, stars and such all over the place...

In the release notes, it states that the rankng system has changed, and if you qualify for the next rank you wil receive it when the any points update on the server. That is why when you kill someone you get the promotion.
Not everyone will, depends on their score to begin with..

I am uploading it to the Newsgroup A.B.Games and should be finished in about 30 mins. "Battlefield 2 Patch v1.03" is the name of it.

im having this lovely problem that it will load upo to the join screen then glitch up and have a few sound error then crash. tried several time and have yet once been able to play.


also anyone actually able to see the message from ea it just links me to a blank page.

Are you trying to connect to an updated server or one which is still version 1.02?

not working for me!!

after a clean install I applied the patch. when I now start bf2 the screen just goes black and then CTD.
