i do have a problem with promised dates and then having delays because they aren't taking their job seriously.

In this space about a month ago, EA and DICE listed many of the feature tweaks and updates that are pending for the 1.03 Update. In order to address the key issues as quickly as possible, we set an aggressive release date for the end of August. Unfortunately, as we approach the end of this month, it has become apparent that we will not meet this goal, and we wanted to keep you abreast of our progress. We are committed to making the 1.03 Update as comprehensive as possible, so while it is important to us to keep the release date, it is more important that we take the time to do this right. Software doesn't just appear on the shelves by magic. That program shrink-wrapped inside the box along with the indecipherable manual and 12-paragraph disclaimer notice actually came to you by way of an elaborate path, through the most rigid quality control on the planet. Here, shared for the first time with the general public, are the inside details of the program development cycle.
1. Programmer produces code he believes is bug-free.
2. Product is tested. 20 bugs are found.
3. Programmer fixes 10 of the bugs and explains to the testing department that the other 10 aren't really bugs.

Consider this: EA doesn't really have to do anything. We've already bought the game, and they have the money. So why do you guys think that they would be rushing to get the patch completed? They could care less, because they're not makeing any profit from it. Seriously, would any of you put your best effort into fixing a game without getting any additional money from it? No! That's why this patch has taken so long.

I don't recall them saying the 3rd themselves, only hearing people speculate that it would come out the 3rd. So quit yer cryin'. They said "days away". Damn you people need to stop complaining. As if you know what goes on in making one of these patches. If we were waiting on you it would be longer. If they had put it out sooner you'd all have something else to **** and moan about with it not being enough. GET OFF THEIR BACKS! THEY PROBABLY DON"T COME HERE TO SEE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY BECAUSE ALL YOU DO IS BITCH. *wipes drool and feals heartbeat*...whew...I'm OK. Almost gave my self an aneurism.

OK. Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but on http://www.battlefield2.nl/ (that lately has had some very accurate information) has posted the below in Dutch and I follow with a Babble Fish unedited english translation.

De release datum die enkele weken terug uitgelekt was, 3 oktober, blijkt niet de definitieve releasedatum te zijn. Na het testen door een closed testgroup is gebleken dat er nog veel bugs in de komende patch zitten. De releasedatum van de patch is verschoven naar halverwege deze week. Waarschijnlijk is de patch in de vroege ochtend van komende woensdag beschikbaar.

Update:

Zojuist is de releasedatum bevestigd. Woensdag patchdag!

The release date which some weeks had leaked out, 3 October, do not prove be the definite releasedatum. After testing by closed testgroup has proven to be that there bugs still many in the coming patch sit. The releasedatum of the patch have been moved to halfway these weak. Probably the patch in the early morning of coming Wednesday are available.

Zojuist the releasedatum have been confirmed. Wednesday patchdag!

You know it just showed up. No ingame annoucement or anything. The creator of the stat site BF2S.com (Chuy) said that he has seen this alot with the stats lately. He is thinking it has something to do with the upcoming patch and the new alignment of ranks, ribbons and medals.

In your quoting them, "days away" you forgot to add, "a few" before "days away". And it has been "a few days". And err uh... if i'm not mistaken, grrr already posted with his stats at the bottom making it evident that the patch was updated onto his game/ installed on his comp/ whatever. And, to pinpoint your info; No i guess the exact text did not say 'Oct. 3rd' from EA but if, and i'm quoting, 'They said "days away".' at the given time, wouldn't that lead us all to believe that it would be Oct 3rd?

Yeah the china ribbon or the mec ones just get put into your profile they dont show up ingame

i think You are wrong they have to make patches and get them done in a respectful time frame,if they did not do this people would not buy future EA releases

Although they did not have to give us a new map and for this i am gratefull
