    Re: Desert Conflict Update

No, we have absolutely no affiliation with USI. Yes, some of our models/skins "seem" work-in-progress to some people. But we have almost completed our model list... We are getting closer to the finish line.

Whats next after that you say? Fine tuning the so called "mediocre" models and skins, and adding new content.

We gotta keep ourselves busy after the first release guys, come on!

      Re: Desert Conflict Update

Looks like the mod is coming along nicely. I look forward to playing it (only hope that there is a decent server or two running it in my area).

It good to see that you’re interested in community feedback, even before the mod’s been released (attention to feedback is a sure sign of quality). Just remember that you can’t please all of the people all of the time. Anyone who thinks it’s reasonable to judge an entire mod based on a few early screenshots really isn’t worth arguing with.

Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to try it out.

Yep, keeping telling yourself your models and skins are awesome and you are among the best mods that ever existed, that will really urge you to do better

i dont get how the T-72 looks bad. Looks pretty nice to me.
And the howie.......? That looks awesume. Compare the new howie to the dc howie....
its not even close. The newer one as it stands now looks awesume. And, please understand, this is a bunch of guys that durring their free time are trying to provide, FOR FREE, a better game expierence then what you are playing now. And as first venture into modding, so to speak, this team is kicking ass.
How anyone can sit there, and say the models look like crap is beyond me.
First. Understand these are not final models. Or, Final skins. If you ask me, the T--72 appears much more realistic then the DC one. But some of you prefer cartoon stuff i guess.

we just ignore the c5 guys.. we must not be their mod of choice. They prob are fan boys of another mod. Lap dogs even perhaps.. who knows and who cares. We thank you all for your praise and we continue to update skins and models. I guess everyone thinks that perfection should be the first release. Its just not gonna happen that way. We strive to improve all our assets as we progress. Some people just have a general animosity towards us and our work. Thats all fine and great but dont be obnoxious about it.

I'm a fanboy of quality mods, and using the original dc's success to promote your mod is well, lame.

How about making a thread in another forum so you can bitch and whine about every possible thing you think of. You would have a huge list. Not to mention you wouldn't pollute threads like these.

Or here's another idea: Use constructive criticism. Instead of just basically letting everyone know you can't recognize talent if it was shoved in your face (which it isn't, you're not forced to enter/post in this thread anyway) actually point out details that could be changed.

And last idea for today: Post your own work. If you don't have any, just makes ya look dumber when you insult others' work.

                        Re: Desert Conflict Update

                        Bottom Line.

Desert Combats Fun Factor, was by far more, then what BF2 is offering. I played DC for hours. While this game, (bf2) has me playing 2 or 3 rounds, and im about done. Sure, BF2 rocks. No question. But DC was better. It was the weapons, the map layouts, it was........fun forever.

I do have a suggestion to the Conflict team. Hope you read this.
One of the main reasons, I believe, that BF2, pales in the fun part, as compared to DC, is simply, the amount of flags.
On EL AL, you had 3 flags in which to attack and defend. In BF2, the same size map, now has 8 or more flags. This is simply is not feasable to maintain the fun factor for say, a few years, as DC was. In the end, players need and want to be surrounded by action, be it on a smaller urban map, or a larger, air orriented map. As it is in BF2, you can really go upwards of 5-8 minutes without seeing a sole. In DC, this just wasnt the case.
Also. In DC, it didnt matter if you were infantry, tanker, helo pilot, plane pilot, you had fun. On pretty much ALL maps. While BF2 doesnt really take that route. (flags again, i suppose)
I also think the biggest gain you can make towards your mod, is by adding and or bringing back the stinger. The game really needs a shoulder mounted AA versus the lame ass AA thats in the game now. In my opinion.
Oh well. Cant wait to do it in the sand, again. These BFV type maps are, well, so bfv.

                          Re: Desert Conflict Update

What in GOD's name is your problem C5? You're all coming accross as a bunch of jack-asses for saying such things about another mod. This is a community of mods. No mod is above any other mod. We are making a mod on our own time... just like you apparently are (or will be). If you don't want to play a Desert Combat style mod, and you have no interest in what we are doing, then simply don't comment. You guys are like little children that want to say as much bad stuff about us as possible just to try to feel better about your own work (and coerse people to play your mod instead, I can only imagine).

This immature behavior is really quite sad.

Please go post something in your own forums and let the people who care about this mod post here. We are certainly not going to stoop to this level and send people in OUR mod to YOUR updates to rip on anything and everything we can...

                                To the Desert Conflict artists;

Hey guys, I can see you put in a lot of work on your models and skins, and applaud your efforts! One thing you might consider, choose an artistic style or look for your mod. People/fans need to realize that not all BF2 mods have to be photo realistic or 100% accurate. I think your stuff looks good, but like I said, it needs some sort of art direction. Keep up the good work!
