I'd be amazed if they don't have the 1.03 out before November...

      Re: Gamecloud Special Forces Interview

I don't give a damn about any expansion packs until the game is fixed. I find it very insulting that BF2 was released in the alpha stage, and the 1.03 patch is conveniently delayed without a release date while work goes on with the expansion.
I know that they are both being worked on by different teams, but I find EA to be very shady in the way they treat their fanbase. In it's current form, BF2 is just unplayable to me, not physically, but there are so many bugs and HORRIBLE design decisions that I have no fun playing the game.
This is a shame since I have been a huge BF fan since BF1942 was released. I refuse to support this game or any expansion packs until it is fixed.
In fact, I haven't played BF2 more than 30 mins in the last two weeks because it is so damn frustrating to have: bullets randomly miss due to bugs and the lame **** 'cone of fire' system, rockets pass through vehicles without leaving a scratch, friendlies show up as enemies, dealing with 'dolphin divers' because there is no system to limit fire or accuracy when in the air or immediately after going prone, dying when barely tapped by any vehicle, AA missiles never hitting their target, the awful flying mechanics and plane missile system, Blackhawk whoring, no differentiating symbols for AT mines, claymores, and det packs, an abysmal server browser, only one game mode, too many flags so its just one big game of 'ring around the rosy', the awful TK punishment system, the limited amount of vehicles (where the hell is the A10?), the fact that people can circumvent Punkbuster, thus making it useless, etc...
Not to mention the fact that certain promised features in the game were removed at the last minute to put in the expansion pack.
Unless the next patch really makes a BIG difference, I am through with the BF series . Since I already own BF2, I will wait for mods like FH2, Desert Conflict, Battlehammer 40K, and others that seem like they will be much better than vanilla BF2. Hopefully these mod makers can fix some or most of these problems.
You guys go ahead and support all of EA's selfish decisions. That way they can continue to screw us over while still fattening their wallets .

BF2 isn't in the alpha stage. Yeah it's got problems, but let's not overstate it.

I've tested software. This is *NOTHING* like alpha stage software LOL!

          I like this part:

EA endorses spawn killing as a valid tactic.
I think they mean, "flag points" and not camping an actual spot, where you know for a fact, where infantry spawns. That tactic is pretty lame.
But i think dice, or rather this person, is talking "spawn points" and meaning.........flags.

            BF2SF.

I'm feeling really confused about what this expansion is offering. They say it adds six new armies but all they list are the special forces of 6 armies but no mention of their other troopers. Does this mean that you have 6 different types of special forces guys to choose from? Or do you have a standard list with 1 special forces choice?

And how many maps!? That is the most important thing! If only a couple will this expansion offer upgrades to the current maps so they can be played with this mod/expansion?

I'll probably buy it just cause I'm a huge fan but why haven't they gone into detail on these two points...?

What if they are only offering like 4 maps?

INFO that I guess alot of people need

              EA = Publicer (mostly)
DICE (Sweden) = Battlefield 2 Developer
DICE Canada = Expansion Pack Developer
