Off topic, Were any of you in katrina? I was on vacation in Louisiana when it hit, luckily i'm fine, and plan to donate. Oh and btw, katrina hit as cat 4 not 5, if it was a five it'd be alot worse.

10.5 billion???? They are spending hundreds of billions for wars based on LIES and you think 10.5 billion is much??? You prolly are one of the 99% retards in USA, I don't have to ask you to think about that because 99% of USA citizens learned NOT to think, only to OBEY orders.USA are a stupid fascists horde.

It ****es me off to see people saying that people still in NO shouldn't be helped because they were too stupid to get out... These are people who can't afford a car let alone to stay ina hotel outside the city. Were buses and accomadation outside the city provided for these people? No. So that is why they are stranded...

I know this is political but personally i think BUsh is so caught up in the 'American Dream' that i finds it so hard to percieve that someone might not have a car...

This has absolutely nothing to do with this topic please stop.

Either stay on topic or just don't post my god, why does this turn into an attack on the US when something catastrophic happens? It's an act of God not a war get a clue please before you post retoric and nonsense...

I question a person who uses 4 or 5 question marks in a row, one does suffice to make your point that's like using 4-5 Exclamation points to make point it's not necessary.

That post should really be deleted. It doesn't belong here. Even if I wasn't an American I'd condemn those remarks.

To all you Europeans who think we are doing nothing to help those trapped in New Orleans...Do you know how hard it is to evacuate 100,000 people from a city submerged in 20 feet of water and ravaged by looting? Not to mention the various fires burning throughout the city. I think its amazing that they've managed to get half of the people out in five days. They've done more than any of your socialist governments could do for you. So stop saying we don't help our own people.

Its obvious that something is being done now, but read this -

No one can say they didn't see it coming
In 2001, FEMA warned that a hurricane striking New Orleans was one of the three most likely disasters in the U.S. But the Bush administration cut New Orleans flood control funding by 44 percent to pay for the Iraq war.
(the 2 others were earthquake & terrorist attack)

Doing something before would have been better. I know your going to say "you cant put up flood defences against a hurricane", but some of the funding could have gone towards emergency evacuation facilities for those who could not afford it.

Sadly they weren't ready for this... and It was a category 5 hurricane, which we haven't had in years. even tho they had a warning about this i wonder why the gov't reacted so slow to it
