Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief

As most of you know already, the New Orleans area has been tragically hit by a major hurricane causing the city to flood. Currently, 85% of the city is underwater. Hundreds of people have lost their lives and many of them are in need of help. I am asking everyone who reads this post, to please donate anything you can to the American Red Cross. Whether is 5 dollars or 50 dollars, anything will help.

To donate to the American Red Cross, please click this link. To donate to the United Way Hurricane Katrina Response Fund, please click here. I thank each and every one of you for your generosity.

Wow im surprised that this hasn't attracted many comments but im doing my part by helping donate some money to the disaster relief. I dont know to be angry or sad but i feel both 1. I am sad and feel sorry for the people who are dead and the people who are stranded right now. 2. I feel mad becuase of all the fighting and shootings that have been hapening. Also what makes me mad is all those looters took clothes and shoes, they should have thought about there families and wealth rather than worrying about some new nikes off the shelf. Shows some people dont really care.

I know what these people are living. I live in Puerto Rico and we constantly get hammered by hurricanes, but our infranstructure and seweres help the flooding go away. Sadly they weren't ready for this... and It was a category 5 hurricane, which we haven't had in years. Please try to donate and help them out for I know how it feels to be hit with such a devastating blow.

i woulda thought the most powerful country in the world woulda reacted better to this situation than they have. they seem to have deserted the poor people. they need all the help they can get

                        Re: Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief

I'm very sorry for all the people that have become a victim of this hurricane, and the US-policy. My thoughts are with those victims....

Strangly enough, the US-government has been warned for big hurricanes like this, but still they reduce funds to prevent this, so they can pay for the war in iraq. I'm sorry to see that the (so called) righest country in the world rather spend money on "illegal" wars, instead of helping their own people......

I hope this hard lesson brings them back to reality, like it did with all the people in the New Orleans-area. For once: may God be with the USA.....
