If you have ever looked through thermal goggles, you would know that it is totally Black & White w/o a green light glow. Also, thermal goggles do not go very far at all. All of the screens i see the nvg's used, it is far distences where thermal would not reach.

Thats not the point. If you notice in the vids the night vision lights up the enemy as if they also responded to heat sources. (Hence I said they combined them) Night vision will not light up heat sources more than any other surface, unless its like a lightbulb, fire, etc. In some parts the people are like 5x brighter than the surfaces around them.

Wow, it looks alot better than I originally imagined. I'm gonna have to agree with reaver though, the zip-line did look kinda fake lol. It just shoots and within a second the line is up and ready to go. Looks exactly the same game though with night vision and new maps and weapons. Looks like I better start savin up, I don't come across money too often

BTW the end is the best...he's shooting at 5 guys, hides for a second, and a jeep comes through and runs a few over ;P

I hope they make some sort of animation for the zip line. It was like some sorta insta-zip. O_o Kinda found it funny that vehicle just ran someone over after he zipped down the zipline down. Liked the teargas effect, would like to see some flashbangs too. :p Although I can hear it now... "OMG NOOB TEARGAS PLAYERS CAN'T KILL SOMEONE WITHOUT THEM BLURRING MY VISIONS!!1!!!one!1!shift!11" But eh, it'll be a good tactic in squad play. (then again, I like the SWAT series too, which is what all this reminds me of)

As for buying it....eh, call me a naysayer, but I probably won't pre-order. I'm waiting to see how it turns out after release, but if the public response is good, I might get it if things continue to look good.

Meh, BF2 at night with NVGs. Big deal. Zip line looks just like I thought it would, not realistic at all. Tear gas "effect" is exactly like any other game with a "tear gas effect". Nice to see that I'm not the only one that experiences shooting and shooting at someone and nothing happens.
And dear Lord what the f*%^ is up with that horrible, gross sounding sound they called "music"???! Good God, they even mentioned their "music" choice! As if it were a good thing! Nuts! I'll buy it, but not because it's so much better or enhanced than vanilla BF2, it's just some more stuff they got in there. One thing for sure it better not be $50 US. Not for an expansion with 3 features.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for fastroping from the BlackHawk like they promised when they first announced BF2 and released their screenshots.
Anyone remmeber that?? And the MEC skins?? And the different Urban Maps???

Yeah, they're not in the game anymore.


Now, why's that???

First of all, didnt anyone notice the sights on the gun he was using. Fully 3d iron sites.

Second yes there will be animations for the zipline and rapple hook. They still got till november to get everything working.

Third flash bangs will work like the tear gas, but instead of a wavy look youll see alot of white and a loud ringing noise..

Forth Death Touch you wont be seeing any of that stuff anytime soon if not at all (maybe in a expansion). All that stuff was cut from the game long ago and was even taken out of the code. Cause the screenshots you saw long ago was actually Bf2 on a revamped BFV engine they used to test somethings while the final BF2 engine was being worked on.

Fifth, im definetly getting this expansion pack. IF you want to preorder it, you can go to gamestop by using the link below:

Looks great, but they really need to do something for the zip-line, the animation is horrible. The teargas seems to last five secs, like the smoke grenade in BF2. :|:

That's all very nice and stuff but the problem is that iron sights are completely cosmetic instead of functional. When you fire full auto the bullets will be hitting outside the aiming circle which is rather stupid, they should base it on recoil not on crosshair spread. It's the only way to make iron sights realistic.

Everything having a green glow is only fun for a couple of rounds. Zip lines look very unrealistic too, not something I expected from a game like bf2. I also fear that it will focus heavily on infantry which is not my cup of tea, I don't play BF because I want an infantry shooter.

Notice the flag they capped had the British's Union Jack?

The vehicle at the end was weird...it was some kind of 6-wheeled buggy? I did a search for it but I couldn't find the vehicle on any of the DoD websites.

The weapon, as noted in the other thread, was a G36E not a G36C that our Special Ops uses.

It was a Combat ATV, and the gun was a G-36E. If you want to know all the vehicles in this addon, look at this website

i can already see the teargas being a problem. Get a support and a (whatever has teargas) together and people will spam teargas.

Also i can see them using them on thier own teammates just for the hell of it.

Can the zipline kill people? Shoot them with it?
