*Please Read* Total Gaming Network Update

I am very excited to announce to you all today that the Total Gaming Network will undergo some major changes that we've all been highly anticipating. I won't waste any time in saying you can expect the following features very, very soon:

    • Single user database (One login on all sites/forums)
    • Access to all forums from a single URL
    • Centralized location for forum sections (Off-topic, tech center, etc.)

To ensure that this process goes as planned and as smooth as possible we need a little help from you guys. Here's what you need to do:

For every account you have on the network, please make sure they all are linked to a same email address.

This is very important as it will make sure your account is not deleted because it is seen as a duplicate. Also, when accounts are merged into the new database, your post counts from around the different forums will be combined, as well as your private messages. Nothing should be lost!

We would appreciate you guys taking some time out to make sure that each account is using the same email address. We'd also like to thank everyone for being patient with us as we've tried to figure out the best way to accomplish this merging. Due to the process we must go through to complete these new features, the forums should see some downtime this weekend. Stay tuned for the new and improved Total Gaming Network!

This is great news, but what is the deadline for updating the accounts?
If you are doing it this weekend it might be a good idea to send out a admin notice to the members, a lot of them may not see this.

What if the sum of PMs are > 100? will you expand the PM storage?

We'd like to have the accounts updated by this weekend. Of course not everyone is going to see this message and an admin notice may be a good thing, but for those that don't do it, we'll deal with it then. As for the PM's, yes we will increase the storage so they all fit. :)

I was thinking this single user database had to be implemented soon with the growing number of total sites. I so called it.

Anyway spawn all my accounts are fine. I really only use one email address.

I, on the other hand tend to use a new address for each forum, so I just had to update 5 accounts :)

This is only for Total sites, right?
Or will http://www.teamfortress2forums.com which you host also be affected?

I really like the idea of having only one account. I would like to join other forums like the Quake Wars or UT3 but I don't like the fact that we need multiple logins. Very nice and a good idea.

.....so we can take over the internets.

                    But seriously, good move.

Hm, see I didn't know there was a TF2 forum, I was just posting on THL2.

                    Think I'll stay there though.

TotalAA is no longer active, it had very little site numbers and it was closed.

i think each forum account will be linked via the email address, rather than the name.

I'd like to see a main page with all the news from every game.
Takes a while to click through 5-6 game pages only to find out 2 of them have new stuff.

Or maybe at least a single RSS feed for all the news?
