I remember that email, did you notice the date?

In the thread Sentience responded saying

Additionally, if you use assets from expansions, that expansion should still be required to play the mod. Same deal with booster packs of course.

We're in touch with the EA tech support team and will make sure this miscommunication isn't repeated in the future. Thanks for bringing it up and appologies for any confusion caused here

lmao so evey mapper who had mad a remake map using the bf2 heightmaps has to start again. Oh this is too funny, nice job DICE.
You have finally hammered the last nail in and fully crusified the Battlfield modding comunity. I shall NEVER buy another DICE game again.
I hope you will all make a stand and dont give in to any threats that may be made following this. Keep going with you mod/Map projects, dont change them because some guy at DICE got his kickers in a twist. If DICE want to take me to court i would be more then happy to go and counter sue their sorry asses.

          Pweeease !!! :yay:

EA give us something to play that we donot have to mod to have fun with. Oh wait you tried too many times already. Lets all go back to Nova games to get a game that runs smoother and more players ! OH not it is owned by EA too. Crap will the PC gamer ever get away from EA ?

EA maybe you ought too look at the modding community before you start another crap project to get us to pay for. Listen to us we are the ones that are going to buy your crap. If you do not listen to us do not cry foul when we get your permission to change it and make it a better game to play.

          Guys ,

            EA on drugs?

I would like to give a full hand -5 with full profound conviction and a punch straight black eyed afterwards. Why?
Well, usually i am calm and serene not the hotspur type, solid 40-some. But obviously EA has gone complete out of touch with reality now. :shakehead:
Nothing to flame about but a sincere 'Don't bother about it! It's EA'.

Well as far as 2142 goes, at least FirstStrike at least is safe from all this. We're 100% home-grown conversion using all stock parts and custom code :)

((actually we're more 99%, but then the remaining 1% didn't come from NS anyhow))

I say do what the heck you like, they suggested before the game was released in public interviews that an editor would be released at the same time as the game- if not soon after.
They conned anyone who bought this game into thinking there would be proper mod support by that statement.
Hence anyone who has purchased this game has yet to have been supplied what they thought they paid for- the editor was meant to be on the dvd after all.

I suggest a statement from EA of 'im sorry' would act closer to the terms of common sense.

I can understand from a business standpoint what they're just to do. They figure, you won't buy the boosters and expansions if the content could be available within weeks of release, which in all fairness is true. If they didn't make money, they'd have to shut down the projects and we wouldnt have the games at all.

Special Forces, i can sort of agree with EA on that. There is alot of content on there and it is, in effect about four boosters worth of content. But, Armored Fury and Euro Force and Northern Strike, they are the bottom of the barrel scrapings.

However, they aren't doing themselves any favours because they're giving out bad PR. If they turned around to Project Reality and said, you cant use SF content, how much of an outcry would that cause?

They did promise an editor, but 2142 is albeit dead in the water now anyways. It was a bit of a turkey to begin with, and it's just festering meat now. People gave up waiting for it.

You have one good modification on the entire game, and thats First Strike. No offence to the other mods. Battlefield 2 has dozens of modifications.

I feel for the modders in this, i really do.
