The Battlefield: Tiberian Eclipse mod team has posted up a new update responding to some of the comments from the community. Here's what they had to say:

After looking at our site statistics, and seeing we have got a lot more links out there than I thought (always encouraging), I wanted to clarify a few things.
First of all, I appreciate all of the things I've read so far. Although I've been working on the models for a bit of time now on and off, a lot of them are, obviously, untextured. Also with this, the models are still in WIP stage. A lot more detail is going to go into them, as well as using the textures for detail. Do not fear, they will be textured, and will be as good as my NOD Soldier that I've done. The GDI soldier is next in line for texturing (work on it has already begun). First person skins have not been done yet either. A lot of hard work is going to go into every aspect of the mod, but as you can see there are currently only two members on staff; progress at the moment will be slow. We already have recieved a couple of applications, and encourage anyone interested to go HERE and apply for the team. We have a lot of things lined up and a lot to do!
As for models, that's kind of a tough situation that might not sit well with some. The Harpy, for instance, in Tiberian Sun was an actual helicopter that used rotor blades for the engine. With this mod, we want to bring Tiberian Sun to 2142, but also want to add in our own creativity and artistic skills too (Also, since EA owns copyright, I'd feel safer having our material not exact to the franchise). So, our war takes a bit after Tiberian Sun with upgraded technology, and so the Harpy has a new version of itself in our mod; a VTOL style of engine. Don't like that idea? Tell us in our forums! We want the public to be involved in this mod as much as we are.
I've also noticed a few people questioning release. The mod has only begun and is no where near a final release. The "release date" at our moddb page might be confusing people. I'll update later in the week as to what this release will be (and if we will make that deadline). All that release is going to be, is more of a model replacement release so our fans can see what we are working on and how it actually will look in game. Screenshots can only do our work so much justice. This does NOT mean, however, that our mod is only a "model replacement" type. This IS a total conversion. Once again, I'll post again later this week as to the details of the possible november release.
