OK, in preparation for FS, I reinstalled the 1.25 patch for BF2142, and then played a few maps to make sure everything worked.
Then, I downloaded and installed FS, and it said it installed successfully.
However, when I click the FS Mod Shortcut, it starts to load, but then goes to a black screen with an error message that says;
"Shaders/StaticMesh.fx not found!!! _DO_ check your working directory, _AND_ sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP. (really!)"
I don't know what that means, does anybody know what I have to do?Comment

FOR THOSE WITH THE STATIC SHADER.FX PROBLEM
1:
Please check your 'target' path and the 'start in' sections of the shortcut. To do this 'right-click' on the desktop shortcut and select properties and select the Shortcut tab.
Then check your 'target', by default it should say this...
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142Launcher.exe" +modPath mods/FirstStrike +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
If it does not, please copy and paste this into your 'target' box.
Secondly make sure the 'start in' section says this...
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142"
If it does not, please copy and paste this into your 'start in' box.
(note: if you have a different directory this will not work. Find the directory in which you installed BF2142 and use that path instead. eg: "D:\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142Launcher.exe" +modPath mods/FirstStrike +menu 1 +fullscreen 1) for 'target' and
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142" for 'start in'.
2:
If this does not work, try running "Regular Battlefield 2142" go to the 'Community" tab and activate the mod from there. This has also been known to work.
3:
ADULTSWIM says that he has discovered another workaround for this issue, so please try it and get back to us if it works.
Delete the mod and reinstall. When its asks where, the default is something like program files/ea/battlefield 2142/ but...
1. add 'mods' to the end of that.
2. start up the mod... it will ask where the 2142.exe is... browse and find it. It will start then crash.
3. go into the mods folder and you will see first strike and another mods folder. Go into the second mods folder (which is the one you created) where you will find another First Strike folder. Cut everything inside that folder.
4. Go back out and paste everything into the First Strike folder located in the 1st mods folder.
5. Delete the empty mods folder.
6. Click on the short cut to start the game.
In my opinion,,, something is happening with the creation of the settings folder upon the automatic duplication of your profile (which is located in the settings folder) upon starting up the game for the first time. I know its confusing but it worked for me. I'm gonna play the game now fellas, hope I was able to help you.

I played a lil bit now and its great:yay: Just as I excepted. But in the infantry maps it's always like 30 rebels vs 10 storm troopers. In the spacemaps the teams are even. I hope this doesn't has to do anything with the mod?!:hmm: Or the serveradmins are too lazy to activate autobalancing...
Furthermore, the Endor map crashes kinda randomly. I have no clue why, the vehicles are working, and every equipment aswell.Comment
