First Strike Dev Diary #18 - Talon

There is a new dev diary posted today over at the First Strike mod website featuring Harold "Talon" Withers. Here's what he had to say:

My first job here was to collect as much material as possible on the movies (though when time permits, my games industry background gets the better of me and I can't resist getting my hands dirty, and build a few models when I can), reference images, screenshots, blueprints, technical specifications, you name it, we've got it. Everyone scours the net, and their personal stash of memorabilia (I've been a Star Wars nut since the age of 4, I'm now 34, so you can imagine the size of that stash) for anything we can find. I think we must have the most complete collection of Star Wars reference material outside the Lucasfilm Archives as we have really strived to get every last little detail we can correct. This material is then given to the respective artist/designer to use in the production of game assets be they characters, vehicles, weapons or environments.

Just curious but there is a development update, when release is on Friday? Looks good and I cant wait to get my hands on the MOD.

no set time is given, and i dont think we will, but i cant say that for sure.
friday is for downloading and maybe playing a bit (or the entire day, depending on the release time lol) and the weekend is for pure fun

it's not a dev update on the status of the mod it's kinda like a blog of what they did to get this fare. sheesh you ever hear of a diry? It's the same thing as a blog on the net. Just another word for it. Man you kids need to get out more.............

Anyway this mod is going to rock the gameing world! Lets get the word out! tell everybody you know that StarWars and BF are back togather all over agian on the 28th! We need lots of servers and players for this! get those GC players to play it too! everybody in the BF2142 community needs to know about this! get on the line to every out post and server admin! lets make this the biggest mod release in human history!
