Battlefield: Tiberian Eclipse Mod Announced

The mod teaser we released yesterday now has been announced and confirmed as Battlefield: Tiberian Eclipse. Here's what they had to say:

Battlefield: Tiberian Eclipse is a total conversion mod for 2142 that brings the theme of the famous RTS game C&C Tiberium Sun to a whole new genre. BTE will bring the player into the war that rages between NOD and GDI and allow them to battle in the war that in the past has only been seen overhead. We have a lot of key and unique features we plan to implement into our mod that will set us apart from all others.

Not only this, but creative liberties are going to be implemented into this TC. Although I want this mod to be recognized as a Tiberian Sun conversion, we are not strictly held to the style. Original objects from TS will be recognizeable (the Orca Fighter for instance) but will also be revamped with a new style. We do not feel the mod should be done to exactness because there is no creativity in that.

We have already begun work on this mod, with a handful of models already completed (both GDI and NOD light infantry, Orca Fighter and Dropship, the NOD Harpy and more). The NOD light infantry has also been textured (98% complete) and is already in game and working great.

Updates will be constant, and a first PUBLIC alpha release is expected in the next two to three months.

Not done yet, I'm guessing.

Seems like a little tight schedule to get everything done in a couple months. Unless it's just going to be new models and stuff.

Now THAT was a fun FPS. Would have been great if there was an online version.

A C&C game like battlefield would be pretty awesome.
