    August Reported Servers and Players

Any Battlefield player knows the joy of getting in close to your virtual enemy and cutting off their dog tags as a keepsake. Defeating them with a pistol shot ranks a close second for humiliation hilarity. That’s all well and good, however some players are simply using knifes and pistols alone for hours on end to pad out their stats. We like to call them stat padders. We also like to wipe their stats for cheating and shut down the disallowed servers they rely on

In the month of August, the EA Customer Service team dealt with 350 Battlefield 2 padders and 215 Battlefield 2142 padders with 75 servers investigated between both those games. All of us at DICE would like to thank the Battlefield support team for continuing to up the ante on their anti-stat padding efforts. These anti-cheating efforts will continue as we want to bring the best possible Battlefield experience to all those playing fairly.

I guess they can be annoying, but I never felt it was "cheating". I really wish I could see more action done with heavy team killers or people who fight on the rooftops. Yes, I know rooftops seem to have been made legal, but I can't see how it's fair to fight in a location that not everyone can get access to. As long as they have a beacon on it, that squad can never go away no matter how many times they are killed. I think that is more "cheating" than anything.

        Reported servers

        Glad to see that they're (DICE/EA) are on top of that problem- it's infuriating when you join on a server (that stat-pads) and try to play the game as intended, the admin kicks/bans you because you ARE trying to play as intended. My clan members only wish to play on a level field where skill is used- not cheats/hacks. We will always play the games as intended- Fair. Hence our clan- Fair Combat Clan {FCC}

:nod:Everyone does have access to roof(only needs a bit of skill). Practise a bit on single player than use it.
          cheers

That's peachy and all, but what about the 1.40 patch? I honestly don't care about stat padders, as long as they don't aim bot or wall hack.

Who gives a frak about stupid stats and people who run around with knifes and pistols.

Are you guys at EA insane? Stop wasting your time and give us 1.40!

the climate is taking a turn for the worse it seems... regardless of the 1.4 situation, it's nice to know that some actions are being taken, though this might explain the influx of smack talking recruits with general clan mates who are helping them repeat the process (will start taking pics and collecting info).

Im confused? They investigated 75 servers, yet in both games their are KP servers running now that were running last week and the week before, and the week before, and...you get the idea.

In 2142 theres the EFFU Knife practice server that has been running and running knife only for months. I fail to see what "investigating" is getting done.

"Knife Pratice" Servers? This mean they are unranked and solely use it for practice... Don't think thats a violation.

Yup. Until we get that patch we were promised, I could care less about the stat padding. The hackers are more prevalent then the stat padders are..

well you guys should be concerend about padders. They make a mockery of the stats system. If more people did their part and report padders, then maybe those numbers from EA would be alot higher. This is the problem with the battlefield community. Most are a bunch of selfish babies that cry about everything that EA does or does not do and when they actually do something you sit and say that you could care less. Well i for one am happy that they are busting worthless padders. Maybe one day we will see a non cheating SC.

Stat padding is the same as using a hack or glitching in my book. Cheating is cheating and there is no argument that can justify it.

                            Yeah, awesome job.

But I agree, patch 1.4 and hackers take much higher priority.

Nice, knife servers hosted on wolf and myis. Clean that garbage up, we shouldnt have to report these.
