Happy Birthday to you QUAKE LIVE! You've made it to your first birthday, and with it you've now brought us a a new map, new game settings, and the addition of bloom post processing effects. QUAKE LIVE, the free online FPS that just keeps on giving.
To celebrate the first year of LIVE, there is a little giveaway going on between now and March 9th. Any gamer who participates in at least one match between now and March 9th will ear a special "Year One" award. It's really that simple! The number of people that registered when the QUAKE LIVE Beta opened far exceeded our wildest expectations. Over a quarter million players created accounts right after its launch and that was through word of mouth only! Since that time, players have spent over 8.9 million hours in over 60 million ranked matches, earning an impressive 8 million awards and 810 million frags.
Our title of 'Most Time Played' goes to Pudrick, who has spent nearly 56 days in-game on ranked servers since launch. Our two Dark Angels, Yakumo and Trajan, have been battling for the title of 'Most Frags', a title currently held by Yakumo, who has gained over 258,000 kills.
