Activision revealed to Shacknews that only two map packs are planned for Modern Warfare 2. It was also stated that these packs will hit the Xbox 360 first, with other platforms receiving the packs at a later date.
Pricing has not yet been revealed for these packs, nor has any potential release date. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will hit retail outlets on November 10, 2009 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms.
"We plan to launch two separate map packs for this title," Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith said of Modern Warfare 2's "online content" in a conference call, adding that over 8 million Call of Duty map pack downloads have been sold on PS3 and Xbox 360.
