1UP has taken it upon themselves to give their readers a brief explanation as to why F.E.A.R. 2 is better than its predecessor.
As great as F.E.A.R.'s combat was, the actual enemy types were pretty limited. Think about it: You fought soldiers, more soldiers, some stealthy soldiers, and then more regular soldiers. F.E.A.R. 2 at least throws a little more diversity at you — notably, with the Abominations (failed attempts at replicating the Point Man from the original F.E.A.R.) and the Remnants (a sort of puppetmaster enemy). The Abominations look like emaciated hobos from Condemned 2: Bloodshot, but they act like hyperactive Spider-Man wannabes, as they jump and crawl all over the place in order to swipe at you. At one point, a bunch of 'em escape from their holding pens, and you find yourself spending a lot of time checking the walls and ceilings — when you're not grappling with one that's grabbed you. On the other hand, the Remnant's weak, but he makes up for that by reanimating nearby corpses.Feel free to read more over at 1UP or browse through some of the new screens released.
