A new modification coming soon will detail the events happening prior to those in the actual game of Portal. A three man mod team have been hard at work for eight months creating Portal: Prelude.

The mod will have a story and additional NPC's that aren't of the cube variety. There's no release date announcement yet, but with the mod generating some attention from Valve, you can be sure it'll be one to keep an eye on.
