Konami had to clear the air on a few matters when it came to the digital distribution release of Silent Hill: Homecoming. According to Joystiq, the Steam version of Homecoming will only be the only means of purchasing the PC version of the game when it's released this September in North America.
Following up on some reports coming out of Leipzig, the company informs us that the time frame for the North American release is still September, and Europe will apparently need to wait until later in '08.Yes, you read that correctly. Europe will see a delay in the game's release and North American gamers will only be able to buy Silent Hill: Homecoming through Steam if they desire the PC version. Console owners can still pick up their copy of the game as normal in a B&M store.
We have also been informed that Valve's Steam digital distribution service is "the only method of distribution" for Silent Hill: Homecoming on the PC. Konami currently has no plans for a retail box version, which certainly is an interesting strategy.
