Jason Minkoff, developer for Blue Omega and designer of the upcoming shooter Damnation, stated that there was "no frigging way BioShock should have ended up being successful."
Really Jason? Tell us how you really feel.
Damnation started out as a modification for Unreal Tournament 2004. It's been labeled as a "shooter gone vertical" and is slated for release later this year. You can find more information in the way or previews from Eurogamer and IGN.

Take BioShock: no frigging way that thing should have actually worked out. Fantastic game, awesome design, and beautiful artwork, but the thing is a damn underwater Steampunk 1930s combo thing. How should that ever have done well?It seems as though he's not a huge fan of the underwater Steampunk setting but he does applaud 2K for pulling it off and creating a "damn good game." I'm scratching my head a bit at that too, don't worry.
But it's a damn good game. They just put their hearts into it and happened to hit the mark. And that's what we're trying to do.
