Man alive, it's been a couple of slow news days here following the July 4th festivities! Something that might be of interest to the PlayStation 3 owners out there is word that SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation won't be released until October 14, 2008.
For those that don't know, SOCOM is a third-person/first-person hybrid title for the PlayStation consoles. Confrontation is the first foray on the PS3 platform for the series, is being developed by Slant Six Games, and will be a multi-player only title. Zipper Interactive, the developer of the previous SOCOM titles is already working on their own PS3 SOCOM title which will feature both single player and multi-player modes.
Our top priority is delivering the best SOCOM online experience possible. Tough decisions had to be made and we've decided to push back the release date to October 14th, 2008. We just had to face the facts and do what is best for the title. Rather than sacrifice features, quality and stability, we had to do the right thing and re-adjust our schedule.I happened to really enjoy the first SOCOM title on the PS2, so a delay that results in a more polished title is a-ok in my book.
