This Weekend Only - SiN Episode 1 for $5

This week's weekend special on Steam brings us SiN Episodes: Emergence for the extremely low price of only $4.99! The deal includes SiN Episodes: Emergence, the original SiN 1, and SiN 1 multiplayer.

That's three games for about $5. I really enjoyed it and am still disappointed to this day that we'll never see another episode of SiN again. Go pick it up!

Great! Will pick it up then.

but, I missed the reason why:

It's a classic game, chea? It'd be foolish not to remake it sometime in the future.

The original plan was to do SiN episode 1, then make a two and three. They were basically going off of the Half-Life 2 Episodes. I guess SiN Episode one didnt sell well enough because they decided not to make and Episode 2 or 3, this is why Zips, and almost anyone who has played SiN, is upset.

Actually, SiN Emergence (the SiN Episode 1, the game built on the Source engine) was apparently pirated far more than it was bought. You may hear about Crytek complaining about loss of sales, etc etc. But this is a major case with SiN.

They didn't make much on it because of the loss in sales (Romsteady, formerly of Ritual has made mention numerous times that their support system received a near 5 to 1 ratio of support tickets from pirates compared to legitimate buyers.

Ritual was subsequently bought out by casual game developer, MumboJumbo. This is why, in a nutshell, we'll never see another SiN episode again.

Yeah, I picked up SiN Ep1 a short while after it was released on Steam, and it was reasonably fun. Wasn't a mega-blockbuster by any means, but definitely worth the $15-20 or so I payed for the pack.

At $5 you'd be foolish to not pick this up, if you can handle the thought of starting a fun series that sadly won't be finished.

Really disappointing that people would pirate games this inexpensive. It's not a $60 investment that understandably can be difficult to come up with...

wow, even tho i paid like $20 when it first came out, im sad to hear a sequel wont be coming out. it wasnt the perfect game, but i sure enjoyed it. $5 is a steal, give it a try, like playing a $5 full game demo :)

I might have picked it up, but now my bank have started charging me £5 for converting currencies so... no. On top of that I get charged VAT anyway. Paying too many additional charges on top of the advertised price ftl.

Still, it's incredibly cheap at that price, but I think my days of picking up random games on Steam just cause I like the sound of them are over.

But what is it about? People have said "It's worth 5 bucks" but what is it?

Of course MumboJumbo would lower the price on this game. They don't care. They just want money.
