The Day of Defeat: Source update is now LIVE! Out of BETA and onto your original game, the update introduces the world of Day of Defeat: Source with the Orange Box engine, includes 51 achievements, and includes a number of gameplay fixes and tweaks.

Leveraging the recently released set of free services available in Steamworks, the Palermo Update adds 51 achievements to Day of Defeat: Source, player avatar displays in the scoreboard and win panel, and detailed player statistics that are integrated with the Steam Community features (www.steamcommunity.com).You can grab this update via a Steam client near you.[break="original"]The BETA for Day of Defeat: Source will be coming to a close tonight. In its place will be a major release for non-BETA Day of Defeat: Source. This update will include all of the changes made in the BETA, including the massive switch over of the game to the Orange Box engine.
In addition, this update adds support for popular features introduced in Valve's Team Fortress 2 (TF2), the PC title named multiplayer game of the year by Gamespy.com and PC Gamer. These include "nemesis/revenge" freeze cam and new effects driven by the particle system introduced to the Source engine for TF2.
Finally, this update also introduces a new map, Palermo, which is a remix of the most popular community map, dod_salerno, originally created by Magnar "insta" Jennsen.
