An extremely weird, but facinating modification has recently come out for Far Cry. Jeux d'ombres (loosely translated as Game of Shadows, or Shadow Play), uses a stylized approach to engage the player in a land without set form and where light and shadow play key roles.
The light and the shades give the rate of steps of the player, it unerves him, deforming space. The lights attracts and shows the way, but also push the player to move towards the darkness, towards the unknown. Using the play of the light on architecture also allowed me, in a more traditional way, to express my attachment with the graphic beauty of cinematographic works (those of Fritz Lang or in Sin City by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, by quoting only them.)
