Killzone 2 Preview in Latest EGM

The August issue of EGM, now shipping to subscribers, will feature a 12 full pages of Killzone 2 information. Not much has really been revealed about this title since E3 of 2005.
In addition to discussing the general shooting gameplay, we also had the first chance to play with vehicular combat via a powerful tank that will be at the player's disposal for certain sections of the game. And that's not all for weaponry — we also compare the guns and equipment of the ISA (i.e. the good guys) and the Helghast (i.e. the bad guys).

On top of our hands-on time with the game, we also interview Guerilla Games and get their thoughts on the original controversial trailer, the delay to 2009, and how they got stuck with the "Halo-killer" tag that they feel doesn't really stick.
By the looks of the magazine's cover, they'll also have a new preview of Left 4 Dead. I might have to go pick up a copy of the magazine in a few days.

I liked playing the first Killzone: it had a pretty solid storyline (you and a group of three others plow through a few battlefields *as well as a spaceship* to take out a defecting general from your side,) good controls (I would think that the default control setup for CoD 4 on ps3 is based on the button layout on KZ,) and an online system very similar to the SOCOM series (Server lists, no matchmaking *oh well, server lists are better*.) The game also had a pretty high character polygon count for a 6th-generation game, but the texture rendering was hit and miss. Hey, rent the game for a little while and see how you like it.
