EA has already issued an apology via email, but the sting still remains for users who have to wait an additional four hours to play Mass Effect on the PC, just because they pre-loaded the title.
The issue here? It turns out the decryption method used by EA and their Downloader is absolutely horrid. If you have a fast enough connection, it's actually more worthwhile to just download the game at its launch at midnight, then it is to pre-load and wait the additional four hours to play.
As a bit of compensation, EA is offering those affected users a 50% voucher for their next purchase from the EA Store. The pre-load feature has also been removed from the purchase options.
