Shacknews has whipped out the second part of their interview with Doug Lombardi. Part two covers the high probability of there being a Left 4 Dead free weekend near the title's launch, and the renewed possibility that there will be a demo for the title.
Additionally, Lombardi talks about the impact Steamworks has had on developers. Just how successful is the free-to-play, micro-transaction model working out with Counter-Strike in the Asian market and would that success translate well in the Western market?
There will be new announcements made near the end of May about future Steam client features. Also, there will be new announcements for future Valve titles made near the end of the year, according to Lombardi.

There are certain things that in the Western world we're accustomed to having off the bat from our games. I think that we're probably going to see a couple things fail before we see a lot of things work over here. Saying, "You only get a pistol until you open up your wallet"? I'm skeptical of that. I think there are other things that people would be more willing to pay for. So we'll see.Developers have taken a real liking to Steamworks. The creation of Steamworks stemmed from publishers and developers wishing to use the Steam browser when their titles appeared on the platform.
