Metal Gear Solid 4 to have multiple 90-minute long Cut Scenes, 4.6GB Install

According to CVG, Metal Gear Solid 4 will have multiple 90-minute long cut scenes.
For those troubled with time keeping, that's the length of a feature film.

The news comes from PSW magazine, who's been and finished MGS4, and then promptly whispered in our ears about the shocking 90-minute cut-scenes.
The MGS series has never shied away from having a number of lengthy cut scenes, but this new title is set to push the slider all the way up to 11.

The cut scenes are both and pausable and able to be skipped, but the MGS series has always prided itself on having an excellent, though sometimes preachy, story line. It is also known that Metal Gear Solid 4 will have a 4.6GB initial install. Between the install time and the feature film length cinematics, you had best get comfy and wrestle up a bowl of popcorn.

haha, cutscenes... as long as it is an awesome storyline (which it does) I can risk not playing for a little while...

that's pretty crazy that some can be 90 minutes...

Dude..90 minutes??........................................I don't see how does that work. Unless MGS4 comprises of seperate games/arcs jointed together by 90 min videos (i.e. when you're done the middle east, you go to south america (confirmed) long cut scene) .

OR... When the game is over, there's a 90 min cut scene.

Kinda fun the first time, kinda sucky every other time. You either get bored watching something you've already seen, or you skip and miss out on 90 minutes worth of story meaning you're just 'breezing' through the game and skipping past the story.

I mean, sure it's fun the first time, but it's not a very replayable time of game that way. You'd probably replay it as often as you re-watch the movies you own. I own a lot of movies and I typically re-watch them once or twice a year each.

            Just imagine this:

1st time playing the game. In a cutscene, 45 minutes in. Need to go to the bathroom. Try to pause the game, accidentally hit the 'skip' button.

Options are completely miss out on 45 minutes of content, or load up your last save, do whatever was required to trigger the cutscene again, and sit through 45 minutes of something you just watched. -.-

It really isn't smart. Games are to play, if they want to do movies, they should do movies.

You can pause cut scenes in MGS4.

This is just.. goofy. I though Xenosaga (a RPG for heaven's sake) was ridiculous in its half hour or longer cut scenes, but 90 minutes in a stealth game is a bit stupid (or whatever you wanna classify MGS anymore). Regardless of the them being skippable or pausable, that's still insane for a video game.
