A forum posting at the Steampowered User Forums, citing an email from Valve's Robin Walker, makes the claim that the highly anticipated TF2 update has been pushed to next week.
Probably early next week.

That's all that was written on the subject on when we can expect the update. I have my own email in to Mr. Walker to verify if this is true or not.
