New Steam Beta Client Available

An optional BETA for the Steam client is now available. To opt-in to the BETA go to your Steam settings, select to enter in to the only available BETA from the drop down menu. The client will download the update and automatically restart.



The only noticeable change, that I saw, was an option to "block communications from user" feature that will effectively ignore messages from anybody you choose. Additionally, a slight change log on the Steam forums indicates that this BETA fixes a few issues with the game backup feature not working for every title on Steam.

This probably also contains the back-end server collection stuff for the new Team Fortress 2 add-ons. If true, it wouldn't affect what we see, but they'd probably want to test it to make sure they didn't inadvertently break something else in the process.
